5.0 out of 5 stars Fun & Challenging Workout
I have just about every "...of Steel 2000" video and this is one of my favorite ones. The aerobic section is very challenging, but once you get the hang of the moves, it is a lot of FUN! 2.0 out of 5 stars Too "dancy" , but good abs segment.
The aerobics segment was too complicated and dancy for most people. I suggest Arms and Abs of steel 2000 for a much better workout. Don't forget you'll need a step and some weights for this one!

The toning section which focuses on the buns and abs is also very rewarding. I am never disappointed after I do this workout!!

4.0 out of 5 stars this tape is a classic, April 12, 2002

This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Abs of Steel 2000 - Beginners [VHS] (VHS Tape)
i've used this tape sporatically for years, and i'm only 20. i used to run track in highschool, so i was always in excellent shape. when i graduated, at 17, and went to college...well the dorm food took it's toll...seriously!! lemme tell you, if you do this tape 3 days a week for 2 weeks, consistently, then by the end of the third week you will see results. your waist (front view) will narrow, your stomach(side view) will thin, and to dramatize the effect then your [behind] will begin to draw up and regain shapeliness (as opposed to a wide flat hanging buttox). I love this tape, and whenever i slip up, i get on it. At first it's hard, but it gets easier (even fun) every time!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for beginners, July 17, 2002

This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Abs of Steel 2000 - Beginners [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I've tried several aerobics tapes that are too hard to pick up the moves or changes pace too rapidly. This is the first one that I have stayed committed to. The steps are repetitious and new moves are gradually introduced so it is easy to learn and follow. The 1/2 hour of aerobics always leaves me sweating. After doing the toning portion for several weeks, I was excited to see I was starting to develop a six pack in my abs and a tigher tushy. The abs workout is pretty challenging and although effective, I wish they would have provided more buns toning. But overall, I enjoy this tape and do it several times a week for a great workout.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Video, May 5, 1999

This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Abs of Steel 2000 - Beginners [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This was an excellent beginners video. I must admit, at first, some of the aerobic steps were a little complicated, but after a few repititions, they are pretty easy to catch on to. After the aerobics comes the toning segment. That, too, can be challenging for beginners, but after doing it for a couple of weeks, it does get easier. I was really impressed with the way that Leisa cued the exercises (especially during the aerobics). Tracy and Michelle also did a good job. I give it 4 stars, mainly because I am a beginner/low-intermediate exerciser myself and I really have not tried other videos yet. I still really liked this video. I do recommend it to other beginners.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Beginners, January 17, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Abs of Steel 2000 - Beginners [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This was the first aerobic video I bought. It's very easy to follow once you've watched it a few times, as the instructors do each step of the combo several times before adding a new move. I'd say it's good for beginners, but I also like to use it as an easier change of pace when I'm feeling too tired to do a really strenuous workout. Then buns segment at the end is OK, but good for beginners, and the abs section is better -a little tougher.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good for beginners., April 7, 2002
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Abs of Steel 2000 - Beginners [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Very good for beginners.
I liked the video very much, the only thing I wish was different is the time spend on aerobic exercises verses toning part. I wish the toning part was longer and aerobic shorter. I'm not an aerobic fan, so it just me. Great for beginners. Highly recomend.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great video!, March 19, 2001

I love Buns and Abs of Steel 2000!! The moves are easy to catch on to after you have done the tape a couple of times. It also really targets problem areas and gives a good upper thigh workout in the aerobic section. The steps are so fun! I never get bored with this one. I found the toning section most beneficial; the moves are not jerky and focus on position. I am a strong believer in the importance of performing a move properly and this tape does an excellect job at it. I have had this tape a little over a year and own many other tapes, but I can truely say this is my favorite tape. It is well worth the money!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Video, January 3, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Abs of Steel 2000 - Beginners [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have really enjoyed this combination aerobic and toning workout. At first I had trouble catching on to the aerobic moves, but after I used the tape a few times they got easy. It is important to just stick with it! I think the tape is very good for people who are just starting out. Even people who are out of shape can do the exercises, and the instructors do a good job of explaining the moves and telling you when to switch. Each of the 3 instructors leads a section of the workouts to give the viewer some variety. I don't care for the glorified elevator music very much. I would much prefer to work out to real songs, but I have learned to tune the music out. My biggest objection with the video is that after exercising for a few months, I have come to a standstill with the fat burning results. I had to start using another tape with higher intensity aerobics to take off the rest of my fat. That is what makes this workout more for beginners. I still see results with the toning section though, and this tape has remained the favorite in my collection. Overall, I highly recommend this video.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good balance of aerobics and toning, November 20, 2002

I have a collection of half a dozen workout tapes, but this is one of my favorites. The routines are interesting enough to do frequently. After you've been thru it a few times, you may find that the detailed instructions slow you down a bit, but not too much. The first half is warmup and aerobics, the 2nd half hour is toning and stretching, so its a nice mix and you can do the segments independently. Music is not obtrusive. Instructors are perky and easy to follow. I recommend having a pad/mat for the toning sections.
