5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Step/Toning Video Yet!
This step aroebic workout is ideal for beginners or advanced level steppers. I was disappointed with this video. The excercises were ok......not great, but ok for a beginner. If you are an advanced stepper, skip this one. Also, it was very annoying and a bit unprofessional to watch the numerous mistakes in stepping and cueing that occur during the routines. I would like to have seen those edited out! I also think the 3 instructors could...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Step/Toning Video Yet!, August 3, 1999

This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns of Steel Step 2000 - Step Workout [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This step aroebic workout is ideal for beginners or advanced level steppers. The steps are performed by three different fittness experts and each brings a certain style to the workout to give you maximum results. The toning portion of the video is intense and works absolute wonders. I purchased step videos that helped me lose weight, but this video gives you the toning as well. Not only do you lose the fat, but you tighten up the lost fat. I highly recommend this video if you want to get rid of the thighs, tighten your buttocks, and look great in your lower body area. You will definitely see results. The routines are easy to grasp and the camera is constantly on the steps and not constantly on the fittness instructors.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Bun Buster!, March 31, 2002
By
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns of Steel Step 2000 - Step Workout [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This step video consists of a 25-minute step routine (includes a warmup and very short cool down) and a 25-minute toning routine for legs and buns. Tamilee Webb, Donna Richardson, and Tracy York all take over the instructor roles throughout the video which I like. It brings a nice change of pace to the workout. The step portion is similar to the routine in the Buns-of-Steel 7 video, but is a little more challenging (in terms of applying power moves) and not as repetitious as the instructors change. I was able to do the step routine the first time I popped the video in, so it is not very complicated. It is also fairly short, but you will make up for it in the next segment: toning.

The toning portion really burns! It is also pretty long for toning exercises (about 25 minutes). I can see how regular use of this video will bring faster results than the older Buns-of-Steel videos. I would have liked to see an abdominal workout thrown in (maybe by cutting the leg toning excercises by half, since the step workout works the legs anyway). Abs are my biggest problem area and I would like to see more videos address them (not just with a handful of crunches that take 5 minutes). On the days I want to work the legs, buns, and hamstrings, this video does the job big time!

5.0 out of 5 stars This one works!, February 1, 2003

This workout is one of the best I have ever used. Three instructors alternate with their different styles through a step routine during the first half. The second half is spent using the step to do squats and lunges working every muscle that allows us to walk. The music used by the instructors is perfect for the workout. I have owned all the Buns of Steel 2000 videos and while they are all great, this one gives the best workout.

I also think the 3 instructors could have rounded out the toning portion with a bit of abdominal workout......they basically work the same body parts..yes, it's a killer on the legs and "buns", but not a complete workout. Overall.......I would pass.

This video's title says it all. 2 15mins. workouts, both are really great. Tamilee is great. You will shed those unwanted pounds and tone and shape with this video.

It is well worth a try.

Enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars An okay tape, April 8, 2003
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns of Steel Step 2000 - Step Workout [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I like Tamilee and Tracy but Donna gets very patronizing and has some overly complicated combinations. The tape is only about 20 minutes aerobics, 20 minutes of squats, and 10 minutes of cool down/warm up, which isn't bad but I would like more aerobics. This is an okay intermediate tape, but the squats do their job pretty well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tammy Buns of Steel 2000 VHS Tape, August 5, 2011

This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns of Steel Step 2000 - Step Workout [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have just stated this tape and only got into the first 10 minutes when I decided to watch it prior to doing it. It is a bit fast moving and the steps tend to be more complicated than I am accustomed to but I feel sure I will be able to get through it after review. More for intermediate and advanced stepper I think.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Disappointment for a Classic Buns of Steel Fan, January 6, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns of Steel Step 2000 - Step Workout [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I've owned the classic Buns of Steel and Arms & Abs of Steel for years. They've always been the most effective way for me to get in shape--but I thought I'd check out the new 2000 series to add aerobics and to try something new. For someone who's new to step, I was disappointed. It's a fun video to watch--the choreography is inviting, and Tamilee is great--I'm glad to see she's looking greater than ever these days--but it takes time and effort to memorize and master the steps--I want INSTANT gratification! I'll never feel as graceful and as hot looking as these three women--and I don't feel I'm getting the thorough, methodical toning I get with the eighties tapes, either. The old Buns of Steel tapes are tough, grungy, no-frills workouts--but they work!! Now I've ordered Richard Simmons's "Sweatin' to the Oldies" instead. It was released in '88 and is STILL a bestseller. I'm beginning to think the eighties was the golden age of exercise videos--beginning with Jane Fonda, of course . . .
