4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent standing/floor work - skip the aerobics section!
Aerobics Section (2 stars): I'm a part-time group fitness instructor, and I like to check out exercise videos for new moves, etc. I didn't care for the aerobics segment of the tape. It's a little too jazzy/dancy for me. I prefer a more vigorous less dancy type of cardio workout. Toning Section (4+ stars): The toning segment of the tape is great. If you're looking...

1.0 out of 5 stars Too hard to follow
I have used the abs of steel video and was very happy with it, but this was too complicated to follow. The aerobics were very elaborate and I couldn't do it. I suggest the original Buns of Steel with Greg Smithey - it's a good workout and it's easier to follow along.

It's a little too jazzy/dancy for me. I prefer a more vigorous less dancy type of cardio workout. Toning Section (4+ stars): The toning segment of the tape is great. If you're looking to tone up your lower body - this tape will do it. The first part of the toning section is squats and lunges, and it is INTENSE! Once you get through this segment, the rest SEEMS to be easier, but wait until the next day. Do not skip the aerobics section and jump into the toning. You need a good warm-up before doing the toning section. I like this tape after a run or bike ride, when your legs are really warmed up.

4.0 out of 5 stars It is worth the buy, a must to add to all the steel tapes!!, March 4, 2004
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Thighs of Steel 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I just did this workout(the aerobics part), and I really thought it was fun and not to difficult at all, I got all the moves by the first or second try and I didn't even view the tape first, each instructor has a new routine and they take you step by step building up to all the moves. Don't be afraid to try this fun tape, the bad reveiws I read kept me from completing my total steel collection, I finally grew so curious, as to why this tape was so bad and I just loved and enjoyed doing the rest of them, I just bought it and took a chance, I'm super glad I did. This tape is a great workout!! Try it!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Complicated!, November 21, 2001

I was so excited to get this video, only to be completely let down. Instructors went through moved very quickly and advanced on before I could figure out the initial moves. It became impossible to follow, and I eventually turned it off. One would have to watch the video multiple times beforehand or know all moves from a more advanced level to be able to participate.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what I hoped it would be!!!, October 30, 2001

I just had a baby 3 weeks ago and was looking for something to really kick me into shape. But as a person who has worked out quite a lot in the past and have participated in many aerobic classes, I found this video to be very basic and disapointingly easy. The aerobic section is fine but the toning section needs help. They need to add more repetition to each exercise, I found the exercises were good but not enough. The first time I saw/did the video, I did the toning section twice in a row and still didn't feel satisfied. I am considering returning or selling the video. I also think they should do a section of the video where they do all the explaining of the technique and movement names so that when you are actually doing the workout you can move right along instead of slowing down for each explanation. They can utilize the extra time to do extra reps. After the first time of viewing it, I could see how I could get extremely bored with the video. All in all, I found it be too easy and not at all what I would expect it to be. Maybe they should also have Beginning and Advanced levels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Leisa Harts' tape series are great!, March 11, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Thighs of Steel 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I really enjoy Leisa Hart & her team (Tracy, Nancy, and Michelle). I love her platinum series aerobic tapes - I have a collection and this one was a great addition. This particular tape is a little more "dancy" and takes a few times to get used to it, but the effect is the same - a great calorie/fat burner with a toning section that will help you get results! Go for it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Terrific, motivating aerobics section!, September 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Thighs of Steel 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I just recently purchased this one and have really enjoyed working out to it. I look forward to the "jazzier" aerobic segments and portions of the toning (Leisa's floor work in particular). This is a good one to get for a good fat-burning, energizing work out.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is great!, February 21, 2007
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Thighs of Steel 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I started my series with Abs and Buns of Steel 2000 and soon added this to my list because the 1st one I got was so fun. I love these 3 instructors together. They really have a great fun workout. It may take a few tries to catch on but once you do it is so much fun. I enjoy the fact that they each do their own routine, each working different muscles. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Toning section is great, April 17, 2003
This review is from: Platinum Series: Buns & Thighs of Steel 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
i agree with the others. the toning section of this video is awesome but the aerobic part is to "fancy". the instructors are moving and changing so quickly i found it hard to keep up with. i found myself going back to the basic step continually. i think the instructors could have been more serious. i don't recommend this video to anyone who isn't professional jazz dancer. lol
