I bought this book for my husband, because this is the type of genre he likes and I've purchased Relentless Aaron's books in the past and they were pretty good. This book is so very stereotypical from page one, it lacks immediacy. My husband has been on chapter 1 for 3 months now. He said he just can't get into it and it's so very unimaginative. 4.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to Stew's world..., April 26, 2005
This review is from: Platinum Dolls (Paperback)
PlatinumDolls.com - nothing beats a fantasy fulfilled! If you want it, Platinum Dolls has it. All types of beautiful women to tickle your fancy coast to coast, from the ghetto chick to the beach babe to the southern belle. As the owner of Platinum Dolls, Stew Gregory is sitting pretty. What started out as a small-time amateur Internet web page is now a multimillion dollar conglomerate. Stew is making money hand over fist. The black Hugh Hefner has homes across the U.S, garages full of "toys," and beautiful women at his beck and call all pledging their loyalty to him. It can't get better than this, right?
The good times come to an abrupt halt when a platinum doll is murdered. Yes murdered at a beach party. Who could have done this? Was it a random killing or was she the intended target? Being the consummate businessman, Stew rallies the troops. The show must go on. That is until more platinum dolls across the country end up dead. Is someone trying to sabotage Stew's business? Is Stew next? Has his dream become a nightmare? Who else must die before the sinister plot is revealed?

Initially I had not intended to read anything more from this author after previously being disappointed by a book that had MAJOR hype surrounding it. But being an avid reader, I decided to give this author one more chance. I was pleasantly surprised and drawn into this erotic thriller of lust, murder and mayhem. It was good and I recommend it as a read. I do take issue though with the self proclamations of this author being the "father of urban fiction." While he did his thing in this book, claiming such a weighty title is absurd. Remember an author by the name of Donald Goines? I sure do. Recognize the great ones that paved the way and made this thing here possible. Issue two - the back of the book. OMG! It looked like still photos from a cheesy amateur porn flick. Please STOP! All in all though, it was an enjoyable read.

At 28 Stew Gregory is multimillionaire entreprenueur. His business, PLATINUM DOLLS INDUSTRIES, a porn website operating from several locations around the world. Californina, New York, Seattle, and North Carolina just to name a few.
Stew has hundreds of girls working for him selling sex fantasies to an audience of men who click onto Platinum dolls dot com. Business is going great for this web porn king until someone targets his empire for destruction. Girls are being killed off and although the media coverage of the murders draws more interest and money to the business, Stew is mortified about what is happening to his world.
Treat yourself to a thrilling ride while Stew and his associates try to find out why and who is behind the killings. Mystery, suspense, sex and drama are all rolled into this one great book making it a satisfying read. Stew is suave and sexy he lives every man's fantasy. The women have interesting personalties. One character stood out for me and that was "Brianna" who seem to be a smart wise woman.
Relentless Aaron has shown he has versatility and originality in this fast paced well plotted novel. I can't wait to read his latest, "Rappers R in Danger".

5.0 out of 5 stars WHOA!!!! This was intense!, May 21, 2004
This review is from: Platinum Dolls (Paperback)
What an imagination on the part of the author! WHEW! It's loaded with suspense, drama and fantasy. I was hooked reading the book from the page "one".

The story is fascinating as you try to solve the murders.

The suspense is intense in the storyline! The story is much more than just sex (and yes it's there...but not the way you think it is); it's the murders and beatings (and not of who you would think), the deception, the glamour, the travel and too many more things to mention ( I don't want to give away the book), will have your brains twisted and going through roller coaster emotions when you read this novel. It's even comical at points... PUSH (by the same author) was a great read as well,...but Platinum Dolls is in a whole different category.. It was refreshing to see this author's talent is not limited to only thug novels. Congratulations Relentless Aaron, and WHEN is your next book????

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
He said the characters are flat, and lack dimension. The sex in the book is there gratuitously, for no reason but to exist. It doesn't propel the story forward or add any richness or connection to the storyline. I read it, just so I could give my own opinion. The book was dreadfully hard to digest, simply because it had a slow start. None of the characters were memorable. Once you put the book down, you totally forget about it. It's not a page turner, I didn't have that sense of urgency to complete the book, or a restless night wondering what was going to happen to the characters next. I simply did not care. I will give his future books a try because he does have talent. But this book just wasn't to my liking.

I will be donating this book to the public library for the bookstore. Hopefully someone will be willing to paying 25 cents for it and they will enjoy it, unlike we did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Deadly Revenue, November 30, 2004
This review is from: Platinum Dolls (Paperback)
PLATINUM DOLLS is a website that caters to the erotic fantasies of men and women, if you're into that kind of thing. Their main focus is lots of girl-on-girl action. The person responsible for these fantasies is Stew Gregory, a twenty-eight year old millionaire. He created LTS Industries, along with his partners Lexington and Trent. Stew basks in the presence of pretty women and the opportunity to have anyone of them at any given time; it's one of the perks of being the boss.

The website is doing well and they are constantly getting new members. Everything is going according to plan until out of nowhere a bullet pierces one of the girls and makes her fall to her death. Unbelievably, this causes the website to become even more popular and Platinum Dolls gets an unexpected increase in revenues as a result. Stew is not keen on the idea of capitalizing off the death of one of his girls; however, it's still business as usual. That is until more tragedy strikes in his other locations: Seattle and the Bronx . Six more girls die and the tragedies cause him to lose money and girls. The deaths start to instill fear in anyone who's associated with Stew Gregory. There is a mystery, of "who done it," that needs to be solved and quick before the Platinum Dolls empire is threatened anymore.

Background of all the key players is given and the pieces start to fall into place. Although Relentless tells you "who did it" you're still left wondering how Stew is going to find out. The suspense keeps you turning the page and the erotica keeps you wanting more.

My issues with PLATINUM DOLLS are the misuse of grammar, punctuation and the mediocre editing. None of the issues significantly detracted me from the story but did make me cringe whenever I noticed them. The cover is a little gaudy with its advertising; it advertised the book, a publishing company, a clothing line and the name Relentless. Talk about shameless plugs. Nevertheless, beneath all that is a story worth reading but you'll just have to ignore some of nuances that come with a self-published book.

Platinum Dolls, Inc., is a web-based internet company that specializes in the adult entertainment industry. The girls perform various sex acts for their viewers and enjoy the perk of living in a penthouse. He has more money than he can count and is constantly surrounded by beautiful women. Life couldn't be better for Stew until some of the girls who work for him end up murdered. It appears that Platinum Dolls has been targeted and tragedy hits several of the different locations. In the midst of mourning the loss of his girls, Platinum Dolls is profiting a great deal due to the publicity of the murders. PLATINUM DOLLS by Relentless Aaron is an erotic thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. When you read how Stew came from nothing and becomes a multi-millionaire, it inspires you to make your own dreams come true. From the first page to the last this book will have you asking yourself who and why?

5.0 out of 5 stars Platinum Pages!, June 14, 2004
This review is from: Platinum Dolls (Paperback)
Relentless Aaron is at it again, providing readers with yet another page-turning story. This time tour Mailbu, Seattle, Bronx and Atlanta with Stew Gregory as he over-sees 'Platinum Dolls Industries'. Stew is at the top of his game. Money and sex are in abundance and business is looking good. But somewhere, someone is looking to change Stew's forecast. Readers will not be dissapointed with the latest from the 'King of Content'. There are so many hot and steamy scenes in this story. You will be highly entertained. Keep your eye out for more from this author as he is certainly a force to be reckoned with on the literary scene.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, November 9, 2010
This review is from: Platinum Dolls (Paperback)
I'd first like to say it's hard writing a book that piques everyone's interest to its tee so when a book is at least rated three stars then that's good enough. Not everyone will always be satisfied at the same time.

As for this book, there is a lot of narration. Sometimes that could be a good thing, and sometimes that can be a bad thing--it all depends on how interesting the narration is. It does focus a lot on the relationship "Stew" (main character) has with his girls, but I find that quite interesting too. The sex scenes are descriptive. I actually think the entire book is descriptive. I've read books where every iota is left up for the imagination. I think the author did great with giving you the eye for most detail in all areas of the book, which does give the characters and particular scene (at that time) life.

I haven't finished the book, so I'm still reading, but as far as the plot that is expected to happen, I'll see if it actually happens, because it doesn't seem to be exceeding the first crime scene as of yet and I am on Chapter 8--but we'll see. I give every author the benefit of the doubt. Remember, this is someone's work, so I throw that into play by respecting it at least to a degree with feedback.

2.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't GetThrough It, July 27, 2009
This book could not hold my attention at all, and I LOVE to read. He just goes on and on about his relationships with the various women who work for him. There is one part where there seems to be a plot but, he doesn't develop it. He introduces so many female characters it's hard to keep them straight. I'll try to give this book another go later, maybe then it will be better.
