Hot Tuna are a legendary blues-rock band. Featuring former Jefferson Airplane members Jorma Kaukonen (guitars) and Jack Casady (bass) and veteran fiddler Papa John Creach and well-respected session drummer Sammy Piazza, the group made some mighty fine blues-rock tunes back in the 1970s. And, the group still performs on a regular basis.

They recieved a collection in BMG's series 'Platinum & Gold Collection.' So how does this great Tuna set measure up? Read on.

Positives
-EVERY MAJOR HOT TUNA HIT IS HERE! 'Hesistation Blues,' 'I Wish You Would,' '99 Year Blues,' and 'Keep Your Lamps Trimmed And Burning' are all here.
-The sound quality is superb!
-Underrated gems appear on here too. 'John's Other,' 'Funky No. 7,' and 'Sea Child' all fit very nicely here.

If you're a casual Hot Tuna fan, than this is all you will probably ever need. You get 12 of their finest songs, all in their original album versions.

Highly recommended for any Hot Tuna or Jefferson Airplane fan. ENJOY!!!

I grew up as a big fan of Jefferson Airplane and as i was looking at a live Airplane cd in store, another shopper reccomended i pick up Hot Tuna. I did not even know Hot Tuna existed, they are excellent. They are bluesy psychedelic rock and if you dig airplane youll enjoy Hot Tuna. Every song on this collection is great and is a excellent starting point for someone like myself who didnt know much about them.

Psychedelic music rules. And in the beginning there were no rules. Don't forget to drink the cool-aid...

That's what they were back then and this CD truly is a tribute to the music they used to play for far too short a period of time unfortunately enough.

What a trip to run across this disc recently. This is some of the best Tuna songs ever and some of the best Tuna sound ever. If you are a headphone bass head, strap this one on. Jack Casady is the fuzziest bass player ever. Highly recommended as a primer for newbies and as the best sounding Tuna CD ever for relic Tuna fans that have them all.
