Too Cheesy,
By
This review is from: Platinum Series: Legs, Hips & Thighs of Steel (DVD)
I used this video in the 90s and got rid of it after a while. Now I am back into fitness and got the DVD based on the previous reviews. When the DVD came, I sat to watch it first and could NOT get past the cheesy chatter, costumes and outdated routine. It may work, but home fitness has to be enjoyable and for me, this was definitely not. Try Tamilee Webb's recent stuff instead, like "I Want That Body" and her newer CardioBlast. Great, not cheesy, and very effective.

Leisa Hart is my favorite instructor, and it's so cool to have two of her old "STEEL" videos put onto one DVD. Hart's cueing is so good, and her style of teaching is very comforting. I love most of the Buns of Steel videos, but the ones lead by Leisa Hart are truly the best. This is a great dvd and is well worth it. 2 thumbs up!!!

Hey, it works!,

Yes, this is an older workout routine with cheesy outfits and music.
If you can get past that, this is by far the most effective routine I have found for slimming down those hips and thighs. I, however, like Leisa Hart the least out of all the instructors and find Tracy and Michelle's segments to be much more fun. Give this one a try!

Legs, Hips, & Thighs of Steel,
This review is from: Platinum Series: Legs, Hips & Thighs of Steel (DVD)
Ever done ballet? Get ready to do many plies while moving your feet in and out. It really burns the fat off the thighs and tones them up. You will actually sweat from doing it since you will be moving left to right. The other moves are effective, but this was my greatest challenge...squats and the plies. (Did I spell that French word right?) Just do it. Enjoy!!!!

Great, low impact workout.,

I have been doing the Hips & Thighs of Steel workout for years and am so glad they released it on DVD! This is a true low impact workout that really gets your heart pumping, and the toning section will really get your legs into shape. I do wish they had put this with an abs and arms routine, though, so that you could tone the whole body.

I've noticed some on here don't like this workout, and if you prefer to stay modern-only, then I can see why that would be. My mom has this on VHS and I tried and liked the whole platinum series, so when I saw this on DVD I had to get it. The 3 lovely ladies that take you through this routine are peppy and fun, yeah, my only complaint is that aerobics are very 80's style (which I like) and for the first few times, hard to learn the choreography. But if you're like me a week or two of doing them and you'll be spinning, grape-vinning, and rock-stepping with the ladies : ) The toning sections are easy and non-confusing, and not overly-stressful on the muscles. I think this workout is bubbly and fun and I recommend it if you loved the enthusiasm of the 80's and 90's style workouts. : D

I wouldn't recommended this workout DVD to anyone! There was way too much chit-chat and it was very difficult to follow the three instructors. I've had this DVD for less than two weeks and sold it in a local pawn shop for $2.

STILL the best workout around,

I loved the "steel" series in the nineties...when I realized after 7 yrs and 3 children my body was still okay but not as toned as I wanted it I immediately searched out these favorites again. They work great...I don't think it's cheesy at all...it may seem obnoxious to someone who doesn't really WANT to work out and work hard to get their body in shape. It took me 4 weeks to start seeing the definition come back in my arms and legs like I wanted. This is awesome! because I've been running 2 miles every day and doing the stairs at the gym for 8 weeks and haven't seen the results I wanted. I definitely recommend these videos as safe and effective.

A good supplement to workouts at the gym.
I received it in a timely manner, and it works perfectly. |
