Book Description

August 1992 0944661173 978-0944661178 2
The award-winning Play for All Guidelines has become the industry standard for all planners, designers, and managers of outdoor play settings. It is the most comprehensive design resource available for integrating children of all abilities in the same play area. It addresses the full range of play-related issues; safety and risk management, accessibility and integration, maintenance, and -- most importantly--child development. This revised edition reflects the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the current U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's guidelines for public play areas.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"The PFA Guidelines is an extremely valuable resource for creating play setting from pre-school on up. It serves as a badly needed supplement to the Consumer Product Safety Commission Guidelines." -- Joe Frost, PhD, Professor of Education, University of Texas at Austin

"The PFA Guidelines may help us put back into play environments what urban development has displaced." -- Michael Fischer, Executive Director, Sierra Club

"The best publication of its kind -- an extremely valuable resource for any designer sincerely interested in building good playgrounds." -- Robert Brooks, ASLA
