4.0 out of 5 stars a near classic that still rocks October 1, 2009
Format:Audio CD
Girlschool put out three classic discs and then this one which was slicker and produced with a more def lepard style than the other three. And it pulls this off nicely, there's more standard hard rock songs on this one than the first three discs but girlschool is such a great group that this is well worth owning. I would buy the first three discs first before grabbing this one. It's enjoyable and rocks hard in that great 1980's style. If you enjoy melodic metal then this group is among the best at it and someday people will realize this universally. Sadly the lead guitarist passed away from cancer but this group is still out there rockin and thats really cool.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, but weakest of the 4 Bronze albums December 18, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
The Slade boys who produced this, Jim Lea and Noddy Holder, didn't do Girlschool any favors here with the direction they steered them toward, plus the rather sterile and plodding drum sound. Granted it was 1983 and things were changing, but the girls had a great thing going style-wise on the first three albums and the producers should have kept them in a similar vein. And the boys managed to sneak two of their compositions onto the album... OK tunes, but it makes you wonder.

It is nice to have the 5 bonus tracks, however, which were previously only available on their 12" EP's. The band plays 4 songs from this album on their live video "Play Dirty Live" recorded at Camden Palace, London, a year later. They added Jackie Bodimead on keyboards and co-lead vocals by then... keyboards?!... Girlschool?!! But it all still rocks pretty good nonetheless.

This is definitely the weakest of the 4 Bronze issues, but it's still worth having.
