Read all the reviews, so I ordered 3 videos from Mei Mei, including this one, 5 videos from Panda Pim, and 1 video from follow Jade. My 2 yr old daughter, who doesn't speak chinese, loves the Panda videos by far. They are the most fun and informative, integrating much more chinese language in a easy to follow format. The first video from Mei Mei is her favorite (yellow cover) out of the 3 I got. This one is rather boring. Follow Jade was too simple and easily covered by Panda Pim.

I just started sending my kids to Chinese school to learn Mandarin and these Mei Mei dvd's have been a great help in reinforcing what they have learned in class.

The Follow Jade dvd's are great, too. A little on the short side, approximately 30 minutes each.

Plus, we also bought this gorgerous "ASIAN AMERICAN BERENGUER GIRL DOLL" from EBAY, and my daughter absolutely loves to play with the beautiful doll and watch her Chinese dvd's.

My two-and-a-half year old adopted Chinese daughter loved Play & Learn with Mei Mei volume 2, which we found at the library. She immediately referred to Mei Mei as "teacher," and asked to see "teacher" again and again. We have since purchased Dance and Learn with Mei Mei as a gift for her, at a friend's recommendation, and have suggested that family members consider Mei Mei dvds as gifts for her, too. We look forward to building up our own library of Mei Mei dvds!

I have a 20 year back ground in teaching English as a foreign language so was really disappointed when I saw the first DVD. Despite my negativity towards the first DVD, as my son was enjoying it I decided to purchase the next DVD in the series. I have to say that this DVD is a lot more polished and Mei Mei seems to now understand foreign language acquisition much better than she appears to have when making her first DVD.

Despite my criticisms on methodology I have to say that keeping the 3.5 year old interested is the most important factor and this DVD does this so I will probably keep on purchasing this series until my son loses interest. Do feel that these DVD's could contain more content as they aren't very good value.

My son supplements these DVD's with various Ipad apps. I feel this is the right way round. This is the core product and the apps act as supplements, and not the other way around.

All of the videos in the Play and Learn Series are fabulous. My daughter Lily loves watching them. She asks to watch Mei Mei almost everyday.
