another great parody from Seduction Cinema,
By
This review is from: Play-Mate of the Apes (DVD)
John Bacchus's Playmate of the Apes is priceless. Full of silly humor, camp, and beautiful actresses galore, this film is sure to please fans of many genres. It's the distant future. After awaking from a long hyper-sleep aboard their space shuttle, three beautiful astronauts, Commander Gaylor (Seduction Cinema's poster girl Misty Mundae), Lt. Fornication (newcomer Sharon Engert), and Lt. Pushkintucushkin (adult internet star Anoushka) accidentally push a wrong button and crash land on a mysterious planet. After trudging through the hot desert/forest, the trio discover that the planet is ruled by human-hating apes. The apes are convinced that humans have no soul, as the few humans that also populate their planet cannot talk or dance. Soon we meet many colorful characters: General Lade (John Bacchus), the leader of the apes who fuels the hatred of the humans, Dr. Cornholeus (Debbie Rochon), an ape doctor who is convinced that humans are not as bad as everyone thinks, and Uvula (Seduction star Darian Caine), one of the planet's curious and naive native humans who takes a liking to the astronauts. Many problems erupt, as the human astronauts cause confusion among the ape population, since they can talk, etc., which negates the notion that all humans are soulless creatures. Soon, it becomes a battle of wits, strength, and erotic charm as the astronauts try to help the native humans regain their dignity while also trying to repair their ship and return home. Playmate of the Apes is Seduction Cinema's biggest and most prolific stab at the erotic spoof genre so far. There is a large cast, great monkey make-up, many computer generated effects, and a good, cohesive story. The three leads (Mundae, Engert, and Anoushka) do a good job at playing their fish-out-of-water roles, and know how to deliver the humorous lines. Just watch the scene in which Misty Mundae apes the famous line from the original and frantically shrieks, "This place is a madhouse! A MADHOUSE!!" and try not to laugh. The parody really works. There are many more good things I could say about this film, but it would just be best to see it for yourself. It's funny, erotic, and very entertaining. The Special Edition DVD presents the film in it's original full-frame aspect ratio. Special Features are abundant. They include: Great movie, great DVD...director John Bacchus continues to impress. **HIGHLY RECOMMENDED**

Yet Another Reason To "Go Ape" Over Seduction Cinema!,

This review is from: Play-Mate of the Apes (DVD)
Seduction Cinema releases a lot of low-budget independent films, but the best ones are those directed by John Bacchus. This is one of them, and it stands as the finest "erotic parody" he has made so far. Not only does the script make fun of both the original "Planet Of The Apes" and the recent re-make, but the film itself is the largest and most expensive production Seduction Cinema has given us to date. The jokes are also getting funnier as well, I'm happy to say. I laughed out loud several times at this movie, and not because it was cheeseball. This movie is genuinely well-written and well-acted. Misty Mundae does a great job at handling the lead role, Darian Caine is incredible as usual (despite having no dialogue...this would be a 5-star affair if Caine & Mundae switched roles), and even John Bacchus is funny as hell playing General Laid (in full ape makeup). My favorite role, however, is that of Doctor Cornholius, played by Debbie Rochon. She totally gets into the part, yet manages to put enough of her own personality and acting style... A great step forward from an already brilliant director, and yet another gem in my collection of Seduction Cinema DVDs.

Wow!!!This is such an entertaining film. It has georgous women, a decent plot line "humans have no soul cos they can't dance" and side-splitting laughs. Theres rapping, space travel, action and lots of tender moments shared between the female characters. This film is a better remake of the classic flick planet of the apes than that dead boring snore fest starring 'Markie Mark', Misty and Debbie can rap better than he ever did! This was the first seduction cinema flick that I have ever seen and I must say that I am inpressed. I watch films soley to be entertained and this obsolute riot of a movie is so wonderfully over the top that it is impossible not to love it. The jokes all worked for my and the girl on girl scenes are steamy and there is such energy visible on the picture, more so than most "a grade" films. The DVD has plenty of extra's and trailers for a slew of other seduction cinema releases.

Miss Mundae is at it again. Best all natural porn star out there. She kinda has this Avril Lavinge thing going on. She is so beautiful and amazing. And there is a scene with her and a blonde haired women alone in the woods thats the best sex scene in the world.

Classic Seduction Cinema!!!,

I first saw this movie on Cinemax. Being that this is the first SC release (to my knowledge) to premiere on national TV, you know it has to be decent at best. But decent would be an understatement! Hands down, this is John Bacchus' greatest work to date. It is a no brainer that this is a spoof of Planet of the Apes. This parody is hilarious! John Bacchus shows his acting potential as General Laid with several humorous punchlines in much of his dialogue. As always, Misty Mundae and Darian Caine give outstanding performances. Mundae plays an Air Force pilot/ astronaut who along with her crew get captured by the Apes for trespassing so to speak. I think it would have been nice to see Ruby LaRocca or AJ Kahn but females casted were an excellent supporting cast. The female interactions were more erotic than I've ever seen in a Seduction Cinema film. There was plenty of hot, passionate kissing and the simulated sex was top value. I found the Polish sensation simply known as Anoushka to be rather sexy for some reason (perhaps because she is Polish). Overall, Playmate of the Apes is funny, sexy and entertaining and a great way to waste an hour and a half. IF John Bacchus would stick to the formula he used when working on this film, he would have a hit every time!

Horrible, why don't they have "0 stars" as an option.,

This movie is completely awful. Out of the whole film, maybe two of the girls were hot. Some had scars on their breasts where the implants were inserted. One in particular had so much work done to her lips, it looks like she was punched in the mouth, and the lip swelled.
I like softcore, but I had never seen a Seduction Cinema title before this one. Quite frankly, I would be happy to never see one again. Not only were the women skanky, but I could have financed this title with the money that is currently in my wallet. Did I mention the music drove me crazy? They took five seconds of tribal drums beating, and they played it over and over and over throughout the entire film. My advice is to avoid this title at all costs...Bottom Line: This title stinks worse than the family bathroom after dad uses it on Chili Night. I can't believe I paid for it.

Need more attractive women,
By A Customer
This review is from: Play-Mate of the Apes (DVD)
When someone buys a title such as this, I would assume that they mostly want to see beautiful women without clothes, um, er, ...performing for the camera. Everything else is distraction. Now this film is very funny and actually better than that horrible re-make that Tim Burton directed. But back to my opening statement: Misty Mundae and Raquel Darrien are fantastic. Especially Misty, who has an extremely pretty face and smooth skin. However, all of the other women are lousy looking! Enhanced breasts abound. One poor woman has so much work that she is a caricature of a caricature; her breasts and lips are seeming to burst with excessive implanting and injecting. So my advice to Seduction is to get better looking women! (except for Raquel, Misty and Katie Jordan - who doesn't appear in this flick) I think they are quite eager and common if the price is right. And please no more enhanced breasts...there are plenty of beautiful natural ones affixed to women who are quite happy in showing them off on celluloid....

The Best Yet From This Group,

First off, I am writing this as someone who enjoys spoofs of movies and who rarely watches adult films. Compared to Gladiator Eroticus, I was amazed at the amount of substance to this movie. There is a truly developed story here. The humor has become more intelligent - with some political references. The acting is inconsistant but improving. Also, who would have thought you'd see CGI in this type of movie? The images of the ship in space are pretty good. Naturally, it's not ILM, but still nice. Some of the leading apes are in makeup (with Bacchus having the best of them) and some in masks. For those in make-up, Bacchus' mouth moves more realisticly than the others. For some of the others, the lower mouth piece was applied in a way that prevented it from moving as much when they talked. The plot combines elements from both versions of the movie. The ending represents a nice twist on the Tim Burton's movie ending - which is similar to the book's ending. I can't really discuss it without spoiling it. It's not as stupid as some people may think. ...just twisting a theory around a bit. ...or alot. I'm not sure if this was done for budget reasons or if it was planned, but this could be more loyal to the original book than any of the mainstream movies. In the book, apes live in a modern world - wearing the same clothes we do, living in the same type of houses. There are apes wearing clothes in this production. There is also a club setting that could be an actual local bar or someone's bar at his home. You also have apes using phones here. However, I doubt they were using the book for this version because the humans would have even less clothes. In the book, humans are truly animals acting on instinct and wearing no clothes. In fact, the book's humans rip off the clothes of the astronauts. That's something that could have been played on here. All of the sex scenes are girls only. ...which is typical for this studio. The DVD has some nice extras. There are two trailers for the movie. The interviews and behind-the-scenes segments are nice and look more like what you'd see for mainstream movies. In the interviews, the actors talk with a poster of the movie in the background. There is also a music video of "We're The Humans" - based on The Monkees theme song. This DVD is the most enjoyable one from this group I've seen so far.

The only "art" film I've watched with a crowd of Bros, this video made us all laugh.
Not the prettiest of co-stars, but if you like a nubile star and corny lines then this is the friday night frat movie for you. And who says you aren't human if you can't dance!? |
