When Tim 'Ripper' Owens succeeded Rob Halford, joining JudasPriest in May 1996 he blew even the harshest critics away. Halford's return putan end to Owens' stint with Judas Priest. More or less immediately, he wasenlisted by Jon Schaffer to team up with Iced Earth where he recorded 2 albums. 2008 saw Owens move on to join Yngwie Malmsteen. 'Play My Game' is theFirst solo album and features an unbelievable list of guest musicians basically a metal who's who.

Anybody who is reading this is obviously a fan of Tim "Ripper" Owens and his work with Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Yngwie, and Beyond Fear. This is his first solo album where Ripper controlled the whole project from writing to mixing. Overall, it's a little different IMHO from anything you have heard him do in other projects but at the same time the songs are of a very high quality. Definitely not crushing like Beyond Fear but like I said, I think most will like the approach. And of course, his vocals are stellar!
The guitar performances on this album are top shelf - rhythm and lead. The leads are extremely tasteful and well placed. It just all works. Just an incredibly well written project from TRO!!!

I think Ripper is one of the best singers around,,,That being said I was pretty dissapointed in this outting,,,Lot of talent on this cd too...Guest muscians worth mentioning...But for me just predictable fall flat songs,,,Please dont hate me for this review,,,I still got your back Tim...Hell..I bought 3 of these!

I loved the first song and thought, wow! good start then right after that it drove off the cliff.. I didn't like any song after the first..
