About the Artist

Scott "The Piano Guy" Houston

As seen on public television stations nationwide, as well as at over 500 public appearances over the last decade, Scott clearly displays not only his love of the subject, but also his total amazement at people who take it so seriously!

He has cemented his belief that anyone can learn to play piano well enough to have fun and sound good at a piano or keyboard.

Are his materials going to prepare you for a career as a concert pianist? Absolutely not!

However, if you can look yourself in the mirror and admit that you wish to play piano simply for fun and enjoyment, then get ready to knock a lifelong dream from your to-do list. Remember Scott’s motto: "Life’s too short to play dumb tunes!" Have fun!

Wonderful book\CD. Scott has a pbs tv show teaching people to play piano.
His system works so if you want to play piano or keyboard, listen and
learn from Scott and you will be playing. SCott is great and so are his
books and I play a million times better after Scott then I did before.

I am an experienced musician and I think this is a great book for beginners, especially older people who want to learn how to play music or songs on the piano right away. If you are a young student and want to learn how to read music, note for note (for example classical) then I would find a traditional teacher and take formal lessons.

Excellent CD since it lets me hear the song renditions featured in the book by the same titleso I can imitate them as I learn.

Mr. Houston is an excellent piano teacher who shares his innovative approach to teaching piano. His approach lets anyone interested in playing piano be able to play well in a very short amount of time. He really makes it very easy to learn.
