4.0 out of 5 stars This was a really helpful book, April 11, 2000
By A Customer
I had never picked up a harmonica in my life and decided I really wanted to learn, but I had no idea how to go about it. I found this book and by the time I finished it I could play better than I thought possible. This book really focuses on how to use your breath to make the sound you want and teaches you to play some old favorite songs that everybody will enjoy listening too. So if you want to learn how to play the harmonica I really suggest this book to everyone.

3.0 out of 5 stars It is very hard to find a realy good harmonica book., July 15, 2006

Keep looking. One of the best things about this book are the pictures of some of the best blues harmonica players. There are a few tunes, but you would be better off with a song book like Instant Harmonica or the like which has much easier tablature to follow; I did not at all find this a good book for beginners- in terms of difficulty it goes from 0 to 60 in ten pages. Pretty soon you find yourself staring at sheet music learning quarter, half and full notes and tryng to figure it all out with timing! The bending section I din't find of much use either. It is a well made book, though, and provided a few interesting terms and definitions.
