Product Description

From the Manufacturer

This interactive shopping center teaches foods, food groups, colors and numbers through shopping role play

Product Description

This interactive shopping center has two learning modes, each with three levels of play. The first mode lets kids scan items and hear the register identify them. The second mode tests little shoppers on their ability to recognize different foods, colors and numbers, and it allows parents to see their child's progress. As kids move through the three levels of learning, they advance through three levels of play patterns.

The Shop and Learn Market not only teaches your child, but encourages hours of imaginative role play. Hear the scanner beep when an object is placed in front of it. Playset includes 10 food items, a pretend-play credit/debit card and make-believe bills. Measures 24"L x 8"W x 15"H. Requires three "AA" batteries, not included. Product colors may vary from those shown in the image.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good toy for your health fanatic child!, January 6, 2008

I got a good laugh when this register asked my child to "Scan the protein", I mean c'mon, this is a kids toy, do they really care about protein?

Anyway, this is a very neat toy that implants radio-frequency identifiers (RFID) into toy foods, so that your child can literally scan them across the reader and the toy will pick up on what the food was.

There are three difficulty levels for your child, even a 'quiz' where you can see how smart they are after answering a series of questions.

Some complaints I have about this toy:

* All the numbers on the register goes unused in the normal functionality of the games. Sure your children can push the numbers, but it never gets more detailed than that. For a register, and different numbered items, I would have liked to see some addition and subtraction and not just 'scan this item' games.

* If you ever lost one of the foods, the games would be very difficult to play. These are smaller pieces, and there is no easy way to store all the stuff that goes with the game with the game. It's going to be up to you as the parent to keep all the pieces safe!

4.0 out of 5 stars My son loves it!, January 4, 2008

This was a pain in the butt to put together. Read the directions first!!! I didn't. After assembling, I realized I needed to put the batteries in FIRST, then assemble. Oops. It has different levels of difficulty and uses the color of the foods, numbers and food groups as sorters. My son has enjoyed it for hours at a time, whether he's responding to the "test" questions or just playing make believe.

Santa just brought this for my just turned 3 year old. It's cute chunky pieces are great for little hands . It has different activities for learning. It's great for the little imagination as well. Even my 5 year old plays with it. I only wish the conveyor belt worked on it that would put the icing on the cake! A+++
