Aptly titled The Ventures Play Their Greatest Hits, this collection is being released in celebration of The Ventures' recent induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and a career that encompasses record sales nearing the 100 million mark, including 37 albums that hit the charts and 14 hit singles.

Includes the all-time Ventures classics "Walk -- Don't Run," "Perfidia," "Secret Agent Man," and "Hawaii Five-0."

The performances in this collection were recorded in 1999 and 2000.

It was in the 60's when my husband learned to play the guitar because of the Ventures music. For his birthday this year, I ordered a few Ventures and related surf rock CDs. I've downloaded all the music into my iPod and he has the CDs loaded in the CD player of the car. He plays them all the time! When he plays the music on the BOSE iPod dock, he really cranks it up! I've never seen him this excited in a long time. It is fascinating to see him dancing now since he hardly dances. His blood sugar is now lower thanks to the Ventures, Sandy Nelson, and so on.

Saw these old guys on Huckabee, and it brought back such memories. In the 60's lots of bands were launched because of these guys, as was my band and my brothers. Every band played Walk Don't Run, and some of their others as standard repertoire.

What struck me about listening to this after all these years how so many of them sound the same and have that same driving, surfer beat. But still like it, as do many.
