Review
...an extremely practical and readable book....makes for fascinating and, at times, heart-rending reading....Play Therapy with Children in Crisis is an excellent book for new students of play therapy. Its clear organization, practical application of material, concise review of theoretical concepts, and study questions are very user-friendly. The authors' provision of verbatim records of play-therapy sessions, along with therapist impressions, make this book exceedingly valuable -- Families in Society: The Journal of Contemporary Human Services
An excellent tool for all mental health practitioners who work with children....Play Therapy with Children in Crisis is a very readable book that is well organized and thoroughly researched. It is a must-read' for anyone working with children and families -- Journal of Traumatic Stress
Play Therapy with Children in Crisis, by Nancy Boyd Webb, is outstanding for its simplicity and clarity....It is seldom that one is presented with detailed process interviews accompanied by discussions of the child's presentations, and the therapist's interventions. This material, the excellent understanding of the nature of a variety of crises, and a stress upon the importance of considering the individual child's perceptions, makes this a valuable book for any therapist who may be working with children in crisis -- Florence Lieberman, D.S.W.
