4.0 out of 5 stars Repetitive Game~Time Management
I am the type that actually likes simplistic games like this. I am sure there are many other people like myself, considering there are other titles such Cake Mania, Burger Island, Cake Shop, and other time management type games. If you have tried these games and liked them, this is a comparable game to those. I think that this is one of my favorites when it comes down...

I wanted to see what all the fuss was about the Diner Dash games. There are SO many of them out there; I figured they must be good. Is this game good? Well, yes and no.

The game play is straightforward enough - seat and serve customers of several colors, get extra points for seating same customers in same colored seats; bonus points mount for 'chaining' or repeating the same action multiple times in a row. Seat, take order, bring food, bring check, clear table. There are a few more twists, but that's the general idea.

Once I got the hang of the game I found I could blow right through it. As the levels progress the only variety was in the patience level, color and volume of the customers - it gradually becomes more challenging but it also becomes repetitive. Another negative is that when you replay a level you are presented with exactly the same customers in exactly the same order lessening replay value somewhat.

I have played Diner Dash all the way through twice. I think that the game is replayable if you wait long enough between plays. I find it moderatly entertaining; whether it's worth the money or not is debatable. I liked it enough to buy the next one, but to recommend it? Perhaps not.

I am the type that actually likes simplistic games like this. I am sure there are many other people like myself, considering there are other titles such Cake Mania, Burger Island, Cake Shop, and other time management type games. If you have tried these games and liked them, this is a comparable game to those. I think that this is one of my favorites when it comes down to it. As you know, you play a waitress that seats customers, takes orders, clears dishes, entertains waiting customers and so on. The object of the game is to make as many "chain" actions (actions that are the same) as you can to make more profit. At free, I would definitely tell people to buy it. At $6.95 or whatever it is, I would tell someone to try it out and see if they liked it. Nothing wrong with trying something out before buying. You might figure it isn't your type of game, but at least it was available for you to try out. I also want to comment that I have Windows Vista not XP and it worked fine for me. Thanks Amazon!

4.0 out of 5 stars How on Earth Was This Meant For Kids, Such a Fun But Hard Game, December 19, 2011

I think my title says a lot of it. This is such a great an addicting game. I know it can be beaten, because my girlfriend has beaten it, but I can't get passed the last 3/4 of the game for the life of me. I play a lot of video games in my opinion, but I completely suck at this one. However, that shouldn't knock your opinion of this too much because this a fun and addicting game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best game out there!, July 26, 2011

The game seems to drag on quite a bit, and is really repetitive. If you like Farmville or other games where you do the same thing over and over then this is your game. There are different levels and diners that you work in and the graphics are not that great but for a few bucks its not a bad way to waste your day.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, hard to play on a small screen., July 20, 2011

I have the Optimus V on Virgin Mobile. This app runs well on my phone, even though my phone doesn't have the best processor or anything. It's really hard to play on the small screen though. I think my screen is around 3.2", on a 4" phone I think this game would really shine. I still highly recommend it, but only if you have a phone with a bigger screen, otherwise it gets a bit tedious trying to play on a small screen.

Got this game for free a while back. Thought maybe my daughter would like it. Found out she loves this little game and she keeps on playing it for about a hour or so. Until I have to make her stop playing the game.. She would get hooked on it but I limit her computer time.

4.0 out of 5 stars good lite fun between major gaming, June 21, 2011

I play this actually as a break between big games. It is also good to play after work or anything. It's relaxing to make someone else rush around repetitivly. Good way to pass the time or unwind. also builds mental acuity, it does not cause carpel tunnel syndrome, the opposite, get a good mouse and a big screen. D.D you do things in sequence and it adds up as your diner gets upgraded. If you meet your goal, yuor job gets harder/more rewarding too. Get a coffe machine and keep your patrons from getting mad for being late with an order old people 1st, they tend to fuss alot more if waiting too long. inspectors need special treatment on top of that(that's as far as I got today)) but that is how it is played, much as real life, things pile up, you get new surprises each day. what for tomorrow? Desert?

I got this game for free and played it and played it. Addicting but a lot of fun, and even when you finish it you can play it over and over.
