Dream Chronicles is the first of a three part well-acclaimed series.You wend your way through stunning environments, removing the obstacles that the wicked fairy Lilith has put in your path. You are trying to rescue your husband from the clutches of Lilith who has kidnapped him and put a sleeping spell on your little daughter.

The graphics are of the first order and the music is immersive and appropriate and just right and you are wrapped up in a kind of visual and musical cocoon. Each scene- and there are 32 of them- is a unit unto itself: you collect tools and utilize them in that area and cannot move on until you tidy everything up. You aren't obliged to carry a heavy knapsack of downloaded tools throughout the game. When you finish a scene, they're gone. A nice little touch is that an item you need will sparkle if you can't find it, and sometimes that nut or washer or key is devilishly well hidden.

This game is not easy. The complex music puzzle in which you have to recreate notes on a piano and in the proper order might be a challenge even for a musician. And you're going to have to have sharp eyes and an active brain as well as good ears to overcome all the thorns strewn along your way. Dream Chronicles is short, but this adventure is well worth the download price, and the download goes smoothly without a hitch.

This was a fun puzzle, seek & find game.

I've never played one like this before so I don't have any experience to compare it to.

The only complaint was that it was too short. I played through it in

one evening. Then they want you to play through it again and again to

see if you can get a higher score. DUH! of course you've already solved

all the puzzels before so its easy to do it again. Where's the fun in that? There's no more mystery. Things are hidden sometimes in diffrent places, but not reaLLY ALL THAT DIFFRENT.

When earlier reviewers said they could play it in one evening, they weren't kidding. It was fun, but I finished the entire thing in less than 2 hours. It is REALLY, REALLY short.

As a huge fan of the Myst games I found Dream Chronicles to actually be much more playable. The puzzles are not easy, but they are possible to figure out. The graphics and music are simply beautiful and the storyline is imaginative and unpredictable. The puzzles are varied, well thought out and integral to the story but the best part is, again, that they can be figured out by a non genius, giving that non genius a warm glow of accomplishment.

My two complaints are not strong enough to detract from my five star rating but are as follows:

1) The game is short. It is possible to replay, but I'm not a fan of replaying games in which the puzzles don't change. That's not a huge issue. It's still worth the price, and since there are now two more games in the Dream Chronicles, it's not like finishing this game means leaving the DC world forever.

2) The secondary game, that of collecting jewels from each location is pretty annoying. I stopped collecting early on, finding the descriptions time consuming and dumb, but accidently clicked on them every now and them. Yep, the descriptions were still time consuming and dumb. I'm not sure collecting all the jewels is worth the loss of momentum involved, though I can't say for sure since I didn't do it.

Love this game and look forward to playing the next two in the series.

I really enjoyed this game. Other reviewers complained that it was too short, but I really don't like games that are so difficult that it takes forever to finish, so I thought it was fine. The music is really pretty and relaxing.For the price, I definitely recommend this game.

All Dream Chronicles are great! I don't usually buy games. I play as long as I can for free and move on. No need to pay or have clutter, but these have been excellant. Very fun game, with beautiful images. I was throughly enjoying myself and suddenly it was over. I agree with the other review it's too short, but still worth it!

I only played the trial version, but that was enough. Having played Mystery Case Files I expect a LOT out of my hidden object games - this game was... well... lame. The story was cute, but certainly not cute enough to outweigh the ridiculously easy-to-find objects. "Find the colored chalk in a brown scene. Now put the colored chalk in the place we've highlighted." Boring.

As previous posters have said, it is a shorter game but it is still a challenge, the end is a nice cliff hanger that leads you to the next volume of the game!
