This toy is remarkably fun, and allows children to use their imaginations building.

These pieces are so flimsy and cheap that they don't stay together.

I am a 36 year old father of four children and actually used to have a version of this game when I was young. So, when I saw this for sale here on Amazon I jumped to buy it. Unfortunately, I should have done as I always do and read what other customers had to say about it! I seriously cannot believe how poorly made this set is. Cheap plastic that barely stays together - or doesn't stay together in some cases! - and little plastic balls that are just worthless and constantly get stuck on the track! My kids were so excited about it after hearing my stories but were so let down when it arrived! I wish I could find a version that really works like they did in the good, ol' days...

My 3 year old got this for Christmas...and hasn't stopped playing with it since!
It's been over a month, and he still drags the box out every day, dumps it out, and creates a new masterpiece of an obstacle course for the marbles. Seriously... it's a cliche, but this is hours of fun.
The variations are endless, and although the instructions included are a little confusing to figure out at first (I wish the instructions were color-coded, but no big deal), you learn to get creative and make your own marble-run. It's easy for little hands to put together, and fascinating to watch as the marble goes through the maze your child creates.
As for the price, I was able to find this toy at Toys R Us for $19.99. Don't know why it's so expensive here.
Anyway, great toy--the whole family loves it!

I work in a kindergarten class in which we have the marble run made by Play StructuresTransparent Marble Run (48 pieces plus 16 marbles). The kids beat the hell out of those pieces but it always manages to stay up and I found myself looking forward to playing with it with them. I figured I'd get this marble run to have some fun on my own time but all I got was frustration.

The pieces fit together poorly; to utilize all the pieces you need to build the construct very tall and the little connector pieces are so loose it near topples no matter how flat the surface is. The pieces are also not even remotely similar lengths. Good luck getting everything to fit together just right unless you want to follow the directions that come in the box. Additionally, the longer plastic pieces are really flimsy; they droop without support...which you can't give to them because the connectors want to fall over.

The whole reason I purchased this marble run was because I was sorely disappointed with one of the motorized ones I had bought, thinking I'd get the same sort of enjoyment I get out of building stuff with the kids in class. Apparently not. I'm returning the kits asap and getting a product I know doesn't suck.

My kids have a toy we got at a yard sale that is similar to this toy. It only had about 20 pieces so I was looking to add on or get something new because it is a very fun and creative toy. The pieces in THIS toy are very cool - loop-d-loops, and lots of moving parts... But it is must less sturdy than the old one. As the toy gets taller it starts to lean and the pieces are harder to put together completely to make it straight.

My biggest complaint, however, is that is comes with 20 plastic marbles that are slightly smaller than real marbles. Because I tried it with real marbles and they don't fit! I don't know what we will do once the plastic ones are lost. This toy is cool and fun, could be a lot better for the money.

Again and again, Amazon has some items that are extremely overpriced. This is another example. This toy is at Toys R Us for $23.00. I recall buying a dollhouse at Toys R Us for about $36 that I first saw on Amazon for over $100! I don't quite understand...

I bought this item for my now 3 yr son about a year ago and he liked it very much. He still plays with it quite often. It comes with so many different parts which don't have same length as previously mentioned by other buyers and I find it interesting and more educational since it's challenging to put the parts that have different length together. And for the price, I was surprised it's over $60 since I paid between $29 and $39, no more than $40 from an online store discountschoolsupply.com where I used to order supplies for my son's cooperative school.

I got this toy for my young son mostly because I have fond memories of playing with a set at my grandmother's house as a kid. This set clearly isn't the same quality as the one I grew up with - the plastic is lower grade and some of the pieces arrived 'torqued' a little bit (which occasionally causes a marble to get stuck on the way down). This does, however, cause little minds to think and problem solve to find a solution, so it's not all bad. The only other complaint I have is that the "marbles" are all made of plastic - even the shiny silver ones! - so they each have a seam going across them, which also gets them stuck on the way down sometimes. We'll be replacing them with some real marbles ASAP.
All in all, I'm pleased with this toy. It should hold up to years of play. I bought mine at Toys R Us for $20. I'm happy with this toy at that price, but would be pretty disappointed if I had paid the current price of $50 for it.
