Usually, I won't buy off-brand controllers, namely because I've had alot of bad luck with them in the past... But I needed another PS2 controller so I could play a game with my bros. I was short on money and couldn't afford to buy the name-brand PS2 Dual Shock controller that I needed, so I began searching for a cheaper one.
I'm happy to say that my purchase of this controller is not one that I regret. The controll looks, feels, and plays exactly the same as an ordinary Dual Shock 2 controller! However, this controller is not without it's down sides, the cord is about a foot shorter than the one on the Dual Shock 2. The triangle, circle, X, and square buttons aren't marked. I had to label them myself so I would know what buttons to press. But it's not that bad, I just used some leftover labels for a blank VHS to mark them, but if you dont have those, a pen and some masking tape will do. And lastly, you have to apply a slight bit more thumb pressure to the buttons to get a reaction out of them. Overall: I'm happy with my purchase of this controller. It's a shame that the buttons weren't marked, but I only paid 5 dollars for it, so I'm not complaining. Besides, it's easy enough to mark them yourself. However... If you've got the money, I recommend buying the name brand Dual Shock 2 controller. This controller is fine if you're short on cash, but if you've got the money you're better of buying the Dual Shock 2 for it's extra cord length. Note: Dont bother trying to mark the buttons using a permanant marker, it wont work.

This review is from: PlayStation 2 Dual Shock 2 Controller (Accessory)
The controller works, but only the left joystick works. The product was advertised as a replacement for the original controller, but nothing was mentioned in the add about the controller being used. It has scratches and nicks on it and I'm slightly disappointed. This is my first negative experience with Amazon. I could have gotten a brand new knock off brand at Wal Mart for just a couple more bucks. I will obviously be more cautious with future purchases.

All I wanted was a cheap second controller so that friends can play along with me at my pad. I was not willing to spend all that money on a Sony dual shock when I hardly would have use for it. So I decided to go with this generic controller and quite frankly I would be content once all the buttons worked and it does. So for now it has been a good purchase.
