Great controller, if you're short on money...,

Usually, I won't buy off-brand controllers, namely because I've had alot of bad luck with them in the past... But I needed another PS2 controller so I could play a game with my bros. I was short on money and couldn't afford to buy the name-brand PS2 Dual Shock controller that I needed, so I began searching for a cheaper one.
I'm happy to say that my purchase of this controller is not one that I regret. The controll looks, feels, and plays exactly the same as an ordinary Dual Shock 2 controller! However, this controller is not without it's down sides, the cord is about a foot shorter than the one on the Dual Shock 2. The triangle, circle, X, and square buttons aren't marked. I had to label them myself so I would know what buttons to press. But it's not that bad, I just used some leftover labels for a blank VHS to mark them, but if you dont have those, a pen and some masking tape will do. And lastly, you have to apply a slight bit more thumb pressure to the buttons to get a reaction out of them. Overall: I'm happy with my purchase of this controller. It's a shame that the buttons weren't marked, but I only paid 5 dollars for it, so I'm not complaining. Besides, it's easy enough to mark them yourself. However... If you've got the money, I recommend buying the name brand Dual Shock 2 controller. This controller is fine if you're short on cash, but if you've got the money you're better of buying the Dual Shock 2 for it's extra cord length. Note: Dont bother trying to mark the buttons using a permanant marker, it wont work.

The controller works, but only the left joystick works. The product was advertised as a replacement for the original controller, but nothing was mentioned in the add about the controller being used. It has scratches and nicks on it and I'm slightly disappointed. This is my first negative experience with Amazon. I could have gotten a brand new knock off brand at Wal Mart for just a couple more bucks. I will obviously be more cautious with future purchases.

All I wanted was a cheap second controller so that friends can play along with me at my pad. I was not willing to spend all that money on a Sony dual shock when I hardly would have use for it. So I decided to go with this generic controller and quite frankly I would be content once all the buttons worked and it does. So for now it has been a good purchase.

good copy. an exact replica as far as hand comfort and buttons go. cord is too short. as all amazon items are, there will always be a small percentage of oddballs with defects.
note: if product = .01 and shipping = 7.00, don't buy product. unless it's a book. assuming you like to read.

Well there really isn't much to say except the controller works great just as advertised and just as a regualr PS2 controller would. The analog works perfect too. And the best part is it's much cheaper then an actual PS2 controller. I would reccomend this controller for sure since it workss just as well and will save you a little money in the process. I havev't had any problems with this controller since I purchased it.

It arrived in a timely manner. Looks and feels pretty good, lighter weight than the original, works as good as the original and a whole lot cheaper. So far no complaints.
Addendum: It is now March 2011 and after being dropped, kicked, stepped on and otherwise abused, this little $8 dollar controller is still going strong! It still responds as well as the day it arrived! Well worth the money indeed!

This item is NOT a PlayStation 2 Dual Shock 2 controller like I was expecting. The item I received was an "Innovation brand PS2 compatible Dual Analog 2 Controller" according to the box it came in. It even looks somewhat different than the default picture (see the customer-submitted photo for the actual product).
That being said, the controller functions just as well as an authentic Dual Shock 2. The analog sticks are a bit stiffer than a Dual Shock 2, although they are easy enough to get accustomed to. Overall, it is a good quality product. But shame on me for not being careful.

The two analog sticks on the Dual Shock 2 controller are too hard to move, it feels like the springs inside are too stiff!!!
Is this controller made by sony? I have another one from Sony that feels much nicer and is more sensitive, thats why I wonder quality control wise if this one is made by sony
