5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Rumble Accessories for the Dreamcast
Dreamcast.ign.com did a comparison of the Performance Tremorpak, the Madcatz Force Pak, and the Sega Jumppak. The Tremorpak came out being by far the best in price and performance with the madcatz coming in second and the Sega Jumppak trailing far third. If you want the best performance for you money, I'd definitely buy this one!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Heavy Tremor...Sometimes Too Much
I have tried all three of the "tremor" packs for the Dreamcast and of the three, the InterAct Tremor Pak finishes in a solid...SECOND place. Here are my impressions of all three devices for the Dreamcast:

I have tried all three of the "tremor" packs for the Dreamcast and of the three, the InterAct Tremor Pak finishes in a solid...SECOND place. Here are my impressions of all three devices for the Dreamcast:

InterAct Tremor Pak: Best priced ($10); shakes a ton (sometimes too hard compared to what's actually happening on the screen); very noisy (loud, loud, loud); well made (just as good as the Sega); fits pretty well into the "rumble" slot.

Sega Jump Pack: Overpriced ($25); takes a lot of action to make it shake (in playing Soul Calibur with it, it barely shook at all); seems to be the best quality; and fits into the "jump pack" slot in the controller easier than the other two.

Mad Catz Force Pack: Moderate pricing ($15); shakes what seems to be the right amount in most cases; quiter than the InterAct but louder than the Sega (probably because the Sega hardly ever rumbles); a little harder to get in the "rumble" slot than the other two; has a red light that goes off when it shakes (some say it makes it look cheap; personally it doesn't bother me because I'm usually looking at the game, not the pack) - it does make it look a little less well made than the other two.

Putting them in order of which I feel they are the best: #1) Mad Catz Force Pack: moderate price and seems to rumble the appropriate amount. #2) InterAct Tremor Pak: excellent price but rumbles too hard sometimes. #3) Sega Jump Pack: overpriced and doesn't rumble much (much less "jump")

I've had this unit since the Dreamcast came out, and I can truly say that the InterAct Tremor Pak has never failed me yet. Hydro Thunder, House of the Dead 2, Sonic, they ALL have been a lot more fun with the pak. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is THE force-feedback accessory to buy!, February 13, 2000

I purchased two Interact Tremor Paks the day I picked up the rest of my Dreamcast loot (the console, an extra controller, and a copy of NBA2K)--I'm a PlayStation vet and I'm too conditioned to the action of the DualShock controller to go without force-feedback in my games. I had read all the reviews, and even though I had my doubts (it's so cheap for Dreamcast peripheral! And what about all those "too noisy," "doesn't fit in the slot well" complaints?), I went ahead and picked up one for each controller... thankfully. All that jazz about "too much tremor," "too much noise," etc., is BS. The thing is perfect--when I'm down low in the post, pitting my 7' 2" created center against Shaq and backing the big guy down to the hole, the controller is about to jump out of my hand. When I'm out at the arc poised to launch a feathery 3-ball and Latrell Sprewell hacks me, it gives a short, sharp jolt to let me know I took one for the team. These darn things add so much more meat to a game of b-ball, imagine what they'll do for a game in which gunfire is involved! Pick one up for each controller, if you haven't already. Oh, yeah: they're built very solidly as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Which Jumpack to buy?, February 21, 2000

I was a little scared about buying a rumble pack that was so cheap at first. I already had a giant subwoofer and I didnt think that I could get much more. So I decided to spend a little on the Temor I bought 2 for the price of the Sega model. I was able to rent the Sega model and it was not "rumbling" very much so I was hesitant to spend $60 on the Sega Models. I bought the tremors and I was simply amazed. The quality is excellent.

4.0 out of 5 stars You may have trouble keeping control, July 11, 2001

this shakes so much, at times it seems hard to stay in control of your games. The design is smaller than what I expected, it has quite a kick, and the strength that it shakes at seems appropriate for what you hit. it provides that extra oomph that is not provided when you don't have a jump pak or tremor pak or that Mad Catz pak. It shakes the most when you cause rapid rumbles or when you are hit in a game. I would have given it 4 and a half stars, but that was not available, so I put it down to 4 stars. However, this is highly reccomended by me

4.0 out of 5 stars Should have been built into the original controller, November 8, 2000
This review is from: PlayStation TremorPak (Electronics)
Almost every Dreamcast game supports the jump pack feature. This is because the feedback mechanism adds an extra dimension of fun and interactivity to games. If you are wondering if it is worth the [price] to add this to your controller - yes it is.

My only complaint is that the jump pack should have been built into the original controller. This feature is near standard in all games and it seems like a crass money grab by Sega to force you to buy a second device.

I have not tried all of the jump pack devices. However, I have tried the TremorPak and the Dreamcast device. I can't really tell a difference other than that the TremorPak seems to vibrate a little stronger than the Dreamcast device. As far as compatibility is concerned, it has worked in all of my games...it has my vote.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Force Feedback Peripheral for Dreamcast, February 25, 2000
By A Customer
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

As I've said of the "Performance" line of products, they're made to sell for a cheap price. In this case, this theory works well. The TremorPak is the best force-feedback peripheral available for Dreamcast. It functions perfectly with all games that are compatible with it, and it has never skipped a jolt. However, since this is a third-party device, it isn't made to fit like a glove into the Dreamcast controller. It's just a tad too small. Therefore, when it vibrates, it makes an annoying noise from clicking against the walls of the controller port. This never seems to affect gameplay, but it can get rather annoying. Regardless, the TremorPak has the most intense feedback of the Dreamcast vibration packs.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Rumble Pack Out There, June 21, 2000

When I bought my Dreamcast, I knew that the experience would not be complete without the rumble packs that can be used with their controllers. I bought one InterAct Tremor Pack for one controller and a MadCatz Rumble Pack (I refused to buy an offical Sega Rumble Pack because of its ........... price.) By far, this is the best rumble pack out there. Even though it is very cheap, it provides the best experience for playing a game. If you're going to buy a rumble pack for your Dreamcast controller, buy this one!
