I was never into snowboarding games, but SSX has converted me. It has awesome graphics and a sweet control system that is easy to learn but tough to master (tm). There are unlockable characters, courses, boards and outfits. I know I'll be playing this one for a long time.

Madden is probably the best football game I've played. The graphics are jaw dropping and the control is tight. It is finally possible to have a run game. With season and franchise modes there are tons of options to keep you playing until next years version.

NHL 2001 is simply one of the best hockey games to grace any system. The settings are endless and the game can be customized from an arcade shooting frenzy to a detailed stat based sim. Everything from game speed to the physics of the puck are at your fingertips. The announcer amazingly keeps up with the speed of the game and makes it more exciting. I don't know how anyone can find fault with the game. If there's something you don't like, just go into the menus and change it. It's all in the manual and easily apparent through the excellent interfaces made by EA Sports. Both avid and casual hockey fan will be able to appreciate this title for all of its fun and greatness. Don't miss out!

Now the rest of the games currently available for the PS2 are hit and miss. I also own DOA2 in addition to these, but it sees the least amount of play time. The really good titles will be out next year. But these three are more than enough to keep me busy for a long time. This package is stellar and worth every penny.

I haven't played much on my N64 or PC since I got my PS2. Any nay sayers are only those who either can't find one or can't afford one. I never owned an original PS but this system is a must have for anyone as its versatility allows for DVDs and some great games.

This Ps2 winter sports fan pack is one of the best. Simply because dieheart sports fanatics of different winter sports will love to be able to play as their favorite franchises or if they love to snowbord, SSX is one of the best x-tream snowbording game of the new Millenium. I've played Dreamcast sports games like NFL2k1 and NHL2k. I admit they are fun but Madden 2001 and NHL 2001 for Ps2 pulls u right into the acton. So good it looks like your watching the game on tv! This Winter sports fan pack was a dream come true for me and can be for u!

With all the hype and people rushing to buy a PS2 as soon as they can grab one, i say wait. Sony is planning a "relaunch" so to speak of their system in March 2001. In this relaunch, games like The Bouncer and Zone of the Enders will be released. Both of which have graphics that are the most amazing ever seen in video game history. The PS2 will definately be the "must have" system then, but definately not now.

Why get a PS2 now anyway? There aren't many good games out there. I love my PS2 for SSX, thats about it. All the other games like Madden, Tekken Tag, NHL, and Ridge racer, are just remakes of their prequals. Wait for the truly good games, and the price drop, which Sony is planning to do in 2001, dropping the PS2's price to ..., or even an unbelievable ....

Remember, wait for the relaunch, which will be followed by more jaw-dropping titles like Final Fantasy X, and Metal Gear Solid 2, Sons of Liberty. If you absolutely have to buy a system now, go for the Dreamcast. Its just that it has more good games out right now. I'm not at all saying its a better system. The PS2 is far more superb. All those people who rave about the Dreamcast being better are full of bull. After all, its not the system that makes it fun, its the games. But come March 2001, Sony will rule the industry and Sega will be blown out of the water by the end of the year.

The system, and all the games in this package are great. I will first start with the system. It has the best graphics yet of anything. I was completely amazed, and my dad who has a very short attention span, watches my play and says the system is the most realistic of anything I play. NHL 2001 is a very good hockey game. The gameplay is realistic, and I like how you can make the goalies better without making the teams better. Madden 2001 is THE BEST SPORTS GAME EVER FOR ANY SYSTEM! It is just too good. It is the most realistic game I have ever played in relation to the thing the game is supposed to be represented. I like how when you are the quarterback waiting to pass the ball with your receivers showing, you are able to get the receivers out so you can scramble. I have always wanted a game that would do that. Lastly, SSX Snowboarding is the best snowboarding game I have ever played. The tricks are a bit limited, but since you are able to do grinds on poles and other things, it makes up for it. In conclusion, this pack is amazing, and if you have the chance to buy it, do not even hesitate.

Im going to try to keep this short. Should you buy the PS2? I did and Im happy with it. But I also have the Dreamcast(sega announced that they are killing the dreamcast) and I intend on buying the X-box and the Gamecube. So the question you should ask yourself is do you care about the dvd player?(gamecube wont have one...x-box will) and do you care about PS2 exclusive games....i.e. Metal Gear Solid2, Gran Turismo2, ect..? If your answer is no to the latter question, then it really dont matter which system you buy.

This system is one of, if not, the greatest system to ever touch the face of the earth. Whoever thinks otherwise is either stupid or not a playstation fan. Madden 2001 is the best football games I have ever played. The graphics are top notch and the controls are a little difficult to learn but what games controls are not difficult to learn at first. SSX is absolutely astounding!!!! That is all I need to say. It is everything you want in a snowboarding game. NHL 2001 is another great game. The controls are simple and the graphics are very good. All the people that say that the games ... they are wrong. They are good games and they have to give Sony a little time to get used to the capabilities of the Playstation 2 and a little later in the year Sony will show all the doubters what they are really made of.

First of all, all of the people that say that PS2 ... DON'T HAVE ONE. The launch games may be a bit lacking but has anybody played them? They are frigin awesome! Midnight Club, Tekken Tag, Smuggler's Run, Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore (which looks so much better on PS2 it isn't even funny), Madden NFL 2001, Sky Odyssey, SSX, FIFA 2001, TimeSplitters, RollerCoaster Theme Park, do I really have to go on? Sure the PS2 has got its fair share of ... titles but what console doesn't? To everybody who has a PS2 right now and isn't happy with it, you obviously have not played ANY of those games listed above. But that is okay, in March 2001 you will really feel the power that is PS2.

This baby is definitely worth ..., a CD player, DVD player, PSOne, can connect to the internet later this year, will have a 30 gig hardrive later this year and well it is also a Playstation 2. The console may not have four controller ports, but it does have USBs which 3rd party companies are making controllers for. Do yourself a good favor, don't sell your PS2, 'cause when you see that the DC and XBox are plummeting and you get stuck with either console you will regret it. Notice how I said nothing about the GameCube, that console is going to be pretty cool! Just get a PS2 it may be weaker than an XBox and as strong as a GameCube, but in terms of games, value and sales the competition is OBSOLETE!!

People have been saying a bunch of crap about the PS2.People are saying that the PS2 is going to be worst than Microsoft's X Box.I think people are stupid or they just haven't played it. I think Sony's 7 year experience will be better compared to Microsofts 1 year.If your a big fan of music you should get a PS2 because no other system except Sony's original can play music.So even if X Box has more graphics they can't play CDs.And that's the bottom line

The system is cool, no question about it. It plays PS2 games, most PS games, and DVDs. The games look cool (well, some of them, but no system's release games look their best) and play cool. If this were just the base system for the ... or whatever price it retails at, this would get 5 stars.

Madden is very cool, I'm sure SSX is really cool too, and getting a second controller and a movie is pretty nice too. The problem is that NHL 2001 on the PS2 isn't all that good....the PS version of it is much better. And while Armageddon is an impressive looking and sounding movie, this set would be far better with a good movie like The Matrix or Braveheart.

Also, I can't tell for sure, but the picture looks like it's not a Sony controller. If that's the case, that's another minus, because non-Sony accessories are notorious for being junk, although it's possible this one is an exception.

So....get this if you like Armageddon and want the games, otherwise look for another setup or for just a system alone.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on this game pack and by far this game system has the best graphics and most realistic games. Since I have gotten it I have sold all my other game systems. If you are looking for a gift or just need something fun to do the Play Station 2 is a great choice.
