When done correctly cigar smoking is part of a life style. No matter your background, education, or wealth a good cigar becomes the great leveler that allows people from different aspects to share a common hobby. The Playboy Book of Cigar captures that essence and looks great on either your bookshelf or table top. I've bought several as gifts. They've all loved it and some of them even ended up giving the Playboy Book of Cigars to their friends as gifts. A great addition to any collection.

This book does a great job of encapsulating the joie d'vivre that is the cigar lifestyle. Sigmond encapsulates what many refer to as "the good life," and put forth an excellent resource for the hobby smoker who wants to learn more about the tobacco craft. Even if you fashion yourself an aficionado, it never hurts to have some "research" near your humidor and this should be your go-to-guide.

Well done! This book is a must for any cigar connoisseur or enthusiast. A sexy, intelligent, and informative cigar book which is well written. This should be next to every humidor.

Playboy THE BOOK OF CIGARS is an essential read for an aspiring aficionado or a long time cigar smoker. Sigmond captures the true essence of the cigar business within the pages of this prolific read. Personally I would recommend this book to ANYONE and EVERYONE who is interested in cigars on any level...

A great easy read. Cigar smoking to me is an easy and relaxing time just as reading this book. with the perfect mix of humor ans educational content. This is the perfect read for anyone who enjoys a good smoke.A perfect gift for anyone in the Cigar smoking fraternity.Bottom line this is a must own must read for anyone who enjoys cigars.

As long time cigar connoisseur I have reviewed many cigar books in the past and this one tops the list. Whether for your own library or as a gift to an avid cigar smoker you will not go wrong with this book. HIGHLY recommend it!

Really good informative book on Cigars. Should be in every cigar lovers collection.

This book was also purchased as a gift. The person it was purchased for wanted a couple of extras to give to his cigar buddies, so I'm guessing it must be a great read.

First, the type used in the book is so small that it makes reading difficult. There is no need for this, as each page has huge margins. Second, the material in the book is somewhat dated for cigars, but it is also so basic that the same material can easily be found for free and in a better format during one evening on the Internet. One entire "chapter" features a few photos of Playboy bunnies holding cigars - not that that is bad, but a topless girl holding a cigar is also not really that big of a deal. Overall, the book is a fairly mediocre source of information on cigars, and is really just a coffee table book. Many better books on cigars can be found here at Amazon.com. As for the photos of the topless girls, you are already on the Internet and they should not be hard to find, either.

Although this book does have some very good information, the conversion to the Kindle format was badly done and detracted significantly from the usefulness of the book. The poor quality of the Kindle version would have warranted a single star review, but I liked the content enough to bump it up to two. There are many typographical errors throughout the book, with many pages having multiple errors on a single page. My favorite typo is the reference to Columbus's third voyage in 15112 (so that's something for all of us to look forward to in several thousand years). Also some words just can't be deciphered, making entire sentences unintelligible. Another frustration is that entire sections don't have paragraph breaks. But the thing that is most confusing to me is that some sections of the book are just perfect. It's like the book was half reviewed and corrected, and the other half just ignored. Obviously the publisher doesn't care about the quality, so just buy the cheaper print version instead.
