Jack Devila always has a skinny blonde on his arm. How can he know about relationships when his family never provided a good role model for stable relationships? Merlina Rossi is a curvy brunette who comes from a solid Italian family. In the workplace, Jack and Merlina spar and butt heads ---- the game is electric! Has Jack gone too far when he asks her to plan his grandfather's birthday surprise or will she teach him a lesson? What happens when the sparks fly outside of the workplace?
Wow, wow---terrific! The characters are all so lovable---especially Jack's grandfather! Merlina's father is the perfect counterpoint to Byron. This novel includes Fun references to film culture as well. In The Playboy Boss's Chosen Bride, Emma Darcy has great passion scenes. Even better, I was thoroughly delighted to read about a hero who is a curvy woman, especially after seeing all the anorexic-looking models in our culture. Unusual and refreshing! This book may be small but it is a real treasure! It takes tremendous skill to write so well in a short novel and Emma Darcy is magnificent. In no way is this book small in terms of the writing ---- rather it is exquisite! The characters are well-developed. The plot is tight, compact and perfectly orchestrated. Not one word is wasted. Perfect!

Harlequin Presents # 2572 - October 2006 Merlina Rossi has had a thing for her boss, Jake Devila, from the day she started working for him 18 months before. Jake thrives on getting under "Mel's" skin, in fact, just calling her Mel is enough to get her going. Jake's always been a love'm and leave'm sort, going for the big-busted, skinny blonds with air upstairs. Merlina is from an old fashioned Italian family, and she's finding her career in Sydney away from the family vineyard to be very liberating. At first she was annoyed that Jake had insisted she dress hip and have her hair cut, so that she fit in more with the clients his business was targeted to. But she soon found herself enjoying the head to toe appraisals from Jake and tried in return to get under his skin. Jake's attracted but he knows he can't touch, Merlina's too important as his PA. When Jake gives Merlina an assignment he dreamed up to purposely annoy her, she does something so shockingly surprising it turns Jake's life totally upside down. Seems Merlina is tired of her single life and is ready to start a big Italian family of her own, and she's got her sights set on Jake as the Daddy. And she may succeed with the help of Jake's debonaire playboy grandfrather. This is one of those delightfully fun reads that keep you routing both characters on to their HEA. Merlina really shakes Jake's world and when he finds he's losing her, he realizes he wants her for always. It's getting over the committment issues and learning what the true meaning of family is, that's getting in the way. Congratulations to Ms. Darcy! .. this book was nominated for a Romantic Times Reader's Choice award

I wish I could articulate how amazing this book is. I just couldnt put it down so I read it twice!
