Awesome-looking women, but not a whole lot of imagination went into this production. The title of this video would indicate lots of girl-girl action, but what was there was tame. The two girls shopping in the fetish store, for example. They meet the beautiful dominatrix-owner, and she commands them to change into some really skimpy outfits in what looks like the beginning of a really hot scene, but then bogs down to a typical Playboy one-girl-at-a-time striptease. They ruined what should have been a really sexy encounter, or at least one that was clearly set up to be so! I could say the same thing for several other scenes on this tape. Still, the women are pretty and they take-off their clothes, so I give it four stars. Maybe the sequel will be better.

I'll mention the positive aspects of the video first. Thescenarios were indeed pretty exhilarating, and contained some GRAPHICshots of women which I have never seen before in "Playboy"'s magazine or in their other videos for that matter. () Wait until you see the girl-girl chapters (there are only 2), especially "Stormy Sunday". Definitely a pleaser! Other footage included 2 hot girls carassing each other while showering after an intense game of tennis (my personal favorite), 3 girls playing strip poker, Kelly Monaco meeting a dominatrix, and other various goodies. Everything in here is done tastefully.

Now on to the negatives. All of the women shown, are good-looking and non-deficient in terms of chest-size, but about half of them really do not measure up to what a playmate is supposed to be in terms of physical beauty. Those who do measure up however, are a pleasure to look at. What's the name of the girl with the straight hair in the "tennis" chapter? She's extremely beautiful, looks REAL cute in and out of that tennis outfit, and has one of the most gorgeous smiles I've ever seen! I hope to see more appearances by her in the future!

I also wished that some of the girls had at least bothered to tan prior to shooting this video. It was as if they had never even seen the sun before. In addition, the 2 girls in "Stormy Sunday", while hot, seemed more like the Volleyball players that you see on ESPN rather than the Playmates that you see in "Playboy" magazine.

That fine brunette that you see on the cover isn't even in this video, and I don't think that the blonde is either. Too bad! I wish that there had been more footage of Kelly Monaco (please "Playboy", have mercy on our needs and give this girl her own video! ). Her outdoors scene in "Girls Next Door" was much more stimulating to me!

Overall, this could have been "Playboy"'s best video ever if only more of the women featured had been former playmates or at least had playmate potential, as was the case in the aforementioned "Girls Next Door", which I highly recommend over this title. Karen McDougal, Heather Kozar, and Lisa Dergan would have made excellent additions to "Girlfriends". END

There were many exciting scenes the best of which was probably the Nanette major shower scene. This review lives up to Playboys professional standards and even beyond. The only thing it was missing was Shannon Tweed-older but still beautiful. I have nothing really critical to say of this DVD.

This is a great video if you want to see beautiful women, hug, kiss, lick and caress each other. It works for me!

Playboy needs to push the limits on its Girl-Girl productions, especially in videos with performances from Playmates of the month. The Lesbian performances in this one are nice enough but way tame compared to an average Penthouse video, and the lesbian sex is only hinted at whenever Playmates are involved. Alot of readers of the magazine would just melt at the chance to see some of the delectable girls who appeared in its pages have sex with each other in a video. Is there something in their contracts preventing this? Playboy may be concerned with preserving the Playmates' "girl next door" auras, but they gotta realize in the nineties, girls can jump the girl next door! How about a video devoted to Playmates with Playmates? Laura and Vanessa getting really down and dirty, and their friends.

One of the other reviewers said something about how PENTHOUSE could have REALLY made this a hot video, and they're absolutely right! PLAYBOY just doesn't have the girl-girl thing down very well yet, and it's too bad because they've got the best-looking women! Still, this is one of their better efforts!

i would say there were half of the scenes were really sexy the other half okay...but the let down was in the picture quality of this DVD..it looks like it came from video tapes. too grainy..not recommended...just rent it don't buy it.

Full agreement with the previous reviewer. There are some really sexy girls in this video, but the overall effort is pretty disappointing because it doesn't make the most of its premise. Most of the scenarios in the video didn't really go beyond the erotic limits of one of the calendar videos, which would be fine, if this was a calendar video. But let's be clear: customers purchasing a video entitled "Girlfriends" expect more than just girls together, no matter how well-built and winsome. They expect to see naked babes having sex with other naked babes. At a minimum this means passionate and wet french kissing, licking, breast play, and other acts of intimacy. And, Playboy's got to realize there's alot they can do and show between triple x and this hopped-up Sports Illustrated Swimsuit video. A prime example of what I mean is the segment featuring Laura Cover & Vanessa Gleason. Fine as far as it went, which wasn't very. Who hasn't wanted to see two (or more) Playmates of the month really getting it on? Laura and Vanessa are two gloriously built examples of the marquee players of the Playboy world; really pretty faces, awe-inspiring breasts on Laura and shapely, inviting behind on Vanessa. They're great, but the segment? What a disappointing tease! They should at least touch each other and done some necking. Why not have them really performing, using their bodies to give one another, and the viewer the kind of pleasure worth hitting slo-mo and rewind for?

No, there aren't a lot of Playmates here. But there are a lot of beautiful women and a little variety too. For those of us who like fair skinned women, there are some lovelies here. There are also a good number of tanned beach bunnies. Some gravity defying chests, and some shapely yet smaller ones. Was happy to see three lovely ladies who had bit parts in "Freshman Class" here in "starring" roles. Hey, they recycle the musical bits too.

Overall great action, plenty of girl meets girl action, hot by Playboy standards. My favorite Playboy DVD so far.

Amazing video. I would have liked to see kissing and caressing in every clip however, not just a couple.
