Another DVD with no Playmates, August 22, 2001

There is an enjoyable Playboy DVD, 7 video segments, each around 6-7 minutes each. Inbetween each segment, the ladies were being interviewed by two male cohosts, who were really annoying throughout the entire DVD. I knocked a star off my rating of this DVD which I would've rated as 4 stars if they left these bozos off the DVD completely. At least the footage shown here is brand new, but there are no Playmates present on here.
The recognizable faces are of models who have appeared in either the Newsstand Special magazines or on other Playboy DVDs.
Roxanne Galla (also on the Girls of Hard Rock DVD) appears here as a sexy bartender serving drinks to thirsty patrons.
Newsstand Special model Kat Verdin (also on the Twins and Sisters DVD and the Club Lingerie DVD) does a striptease in a segment titled "Kat Walk".
Jovanna Vitiello (also on the Girlfriends DVD) throws her Playboy bead necklace into the crowd, and some lucky stud gets to spend time with her in bed.
Natasha Yi (also on the Girlfriends DVD) appears in a segment called "Fertility Dance", where she dances slowly with two other lovely ladies, in a rave-type party.
Teresa Politi (a Jenny McCarthy lookalike who also appears on the Girlfriends DVD) is shown in a masquerade ball, wearing only a mask and a cape, with two other lovely ladies as they slowly dance and pose for an onlooking crowd.
One other notable segment starred 2 ladies in a girl-girl scene, and they were joined by a 3rd model who was dressed up as a vampire.
Overall, this is a 4-star DVD that is worth buying, but the two male cohosts who never seem to disappear take away valuable time from the lovely ladies who appear here.

GIRLS OF MARDI GRAS - PLAYBOY, March 3, 2000

This is a very well produced film with very beautiful women. There isn't one part of the film that drags it down. The idea of the 2 men doing interviews is well done and you get to hear the women talk, as well view all of their charms. I rate this as one of the best yet of Playboy video's that I have seen.

Maybe someday they'll get it right., July 10, 2000

With such fine women in the magazine, watching a video like this one is disappointing. The camera work is excellent as usual (though the editing is choppy) and there are two or three women who stand out, but generally I was not impressed. Playboy should spend some of their money on making the experience seem authentic, with more realistic scenarios and less cheesy music. Maybe hire a music video director from MTV. Sometimes it seemed as if they were just filming a photo shoot. I guess it would be hypocritical to say the video treats Mardi Gras very superficially. If you like watching women stand around naked then you might enjoy this video; I prefer the video centerfolds.
