The cover on this issue is a beaut but feels somewhat familiar. It's a picture of the lovely Olivia Munn rising from a pool dripping wet in a red bikini. It resembles the very similar cover to a certain Complex magazine cover that showcased Miss Munn rising from a pool in the same bikini, except that one was more sultry and had a pictorial to compliment it within the issue.

Many knew before hand knew that Miss Munn would not appear nude within the issue and that fact was readily accepted. She is such a pretty and charming individual that even a clad Olivia Munn was worth something and she is such an interesting personality that her pictorial and supposed interview would most likely provide both humor and cuteness. Too bad that dosen't happen!
Clearly the selling point of the issue was on Miss Munn, but for some inexplicable reason Playboy chooses to ignore. There is only one photo within the issue and a little detail on the popular television host and NO interview to accompany it! Worse below the single picture there's a blurb that reads "For more of Olivia go to Playboy.com"! This is highly insulting to both long time readers and fans for the callous exploitation that the magazine pulled on it's buyers. It's not difficult to see why the once great magazine is floundering in the cyber age.

The other pictorials within the issue barely suffice, since it must be supposed(and speaking for myself) that if you purchased this for Miss Munn than you must have a preference for exotics and probally brunettes. So the magazine offers blondes instead! And not great ones, let me tell you! There centerfolds are a pair of twins now infamous as Hugh Hefner's new girlfriends named the "Shannon Twins". They're both natural, yes, but there personality was such a turn-off on televison and they are frankly just not as attractive as Hef's last three girls from "The Girls Next Door" and i'm not even a blonde fan.

There is a pictorial of a Norwegian beauty named Monica Hansen who appears in this randomly seemingly to inject some energy within the issue with a sexy european but while she's kind of hot, the pictorial dosen't seem to gel.

Also the magazine claims how it's " a double issue" but most is just filler including a pointless recap on the seventies and a brief pictorial depicting models in neon light.
This is one of the most mediocre issues i've ever seen released by this company and even die hard fans of Olivia Munn will be hard pressed to purchase this. It's pretty bad when a Complex magazine is sexier than a Playboy.

Playboy July/August 2009 issue is 166 pages and features Olivia Munn on the cover. A lot of the criticism about this issue is over Olivia Munn not being nude and her one page layout. That seems a little unfair since there are other pictorials with looking at and some interesting articles as well. If you don't count Olivia, then there are six pectorals in the July/August issue. First is Why We Love the `70s and you have nude pictures of famous females and Playmates from that decade like Edy Williams, Linda Evans, Dorothy Stratten, and Barbi Benton just to name a few. Next is Double Vision that shows twins who were features in the Playboy magazine. This is followed by the Playmate of the Months - Miss July Karissa Shannon and Miss August Kristina Shannon, both known as the Shannon Twins. The other pictorials are Electric Ladyland, How To Take A Bath, and model Monica Hansen. My favorites were Why We Love the `70s, Electric Ladyland, and How To Take A Bath. This issue interview is with Alex Baldwin of 30 Rock and Beetlejuice fame. 20 Questions is with Judd Apatow for which is found to be funny. Articles included are The Manly Art of Grilling, The Case of the Missing G-Spot, What's Your HQ, and Smuggler's Blues. Overall this issue is not as bad as some critics have written about. Playboy July/August 2009 gets an AA++.

The issue was delivered to me as stated-- new. I was very happy having Olivia Munn on the cover of Playboy.

The other reviewers are exactly right-the cover photo of Ms Munn is little more than a tease. There's no pictorial, no interview, just one measly page, with one measly, but lovely, photo, and a blurb telling the reader to go to their website for more. Uncool, Hef!
Still, even though their star ratings are correct and mine is not, i still believe every fan of Olivia's (and who isn't?) should own this, if only for the cover pic. Derivitive as it may be, it's still O in a bikini. Also, and this is a rarity among rarities:
How many times do you get to see a woman with freckles on the cover of Playboy? Or rather, without them airbrushed??

i have read a lot of people that said that she teased us. but she has stated that she will never do a nude spread, unless she needed the money or press. granted, yes, she is very beautiful, but i didnt but this sisue to see olivia munn aked. and i aggree, with olivia on teh cover, it should of been more brunnette based thebn blonde, that is just me. sorry if this makes no sense, just got off of field time, so i am a little tired.

I'm sure lots of people will get this issue for the Olivia Munn pictoral. First, she's not nude. Second, you have to go online to view the pics. So there's no real reason to buy this issue. Except for the other hot women that are naked in it, that is.
