Tempted by a tycoon...

Mari was thrilled when a wealthy businessman offered her a job as live-in nanny to his son. But on arrival at his luxury home Mari realized her employer had two sons--and her charge, Nikos Costanides, wasn't the little boy who had greeted her. It was his half brother, a thirty-two-year-old playboy...

#2 in McAllister's Beware of Greeks series.

The premise is ridiculous: a rich tycoon hires a nanny for his 32 year old son. But the author comes up with a couple of interesting reasons for why each character goes along with the idea. Regardless, the heroine is likeable, and the secondary characters engaging. I found the hero just tolerable, primarily because when dealing with his father, he reacts like a teenager, emotionally frozen in time. It's believable, but turns me off. Of course, he grows up, so he can live HEA with the heroine.

If you are already a fan, you'll like the book. If you are new to McAllister, enjoy the characterizations and read more of her stuff for a better plot next time.

Mari was thrilled when a wealthy businessman offered her a job as live-in nanny to his son. But on arrival at his luxury home Mari realized her employer had two sons--and her charge, Nikos Costanides, wasn't the little boy who had greeted her. It was his half brother, a thirty-two-year-old playboy!

And it was no mistake. Nikos's father had hired nanny extraordinaire Mari to reform his rebellious son. Mari wasn't sure she could persuade this sinfully gorgeous man to take orders from her. Especially as he didn't want to be reformed--he was more interested in seducing Mari into his wicked ways!

This is one of my favorites. You can read a small excerpt at the author's website. I did and I had to know what happened next so I bought the book. It's a nice, sweet love story that never feels too dramatic or too sleazy like some of the more current Harlequin offerings.

Heroine Mari Lewis has her reasons for staying, even once she finds out she's been hired to reform a grown man. Meanwhile, there's more to Nikos Costanides than meets the eye. He isn't just some meandering playboy like his father believes. The side characters add enough to the story without wearing out their welcome. Recommended for anyone who wants a pleasant read. Perfect to take to the beach or for a quiet evening in.
