Of all of Playboy's Video Playmate Calender's, this one has perhaps the best selection of Playmates. Kimber West, Lynn Thomas, Nadine Chanz, and Kelly Monaco all are sizzling. The others aren't bad either, even if not as hot. BUT, as far as Playboy videso go, you can expect the same old fast-paced editing to raise the annoyance factor to an extreme. As soon as you get a good glimpse of the model, they cut to another scene. The movement of the cameras and the costume changes are TOO MUCH. If only they cut out half of the editing, reduced the number of costumes, and lengthened a few of the scenes, this would be a 5-star video. And what's with all the shots that don't even show the model?

Get it only if you like these particular models (which I do). Otherwise, perhaps a Penthouse video is better advised.

Some really curvy, sexy girls in this one, but there simply is enough being done with the available material. When you've got babes with a pair like Kimber West (I could spend all day with those breasts in my hands), hips like the delightful Jennifer Miriam, what is Playboy doing with all that rapid editing and unneccessary costumes on the girls? They shoud leave the rock videos to MTV, and concentrate on delivering the goods that Playboy's in the business of supplying: fast, beautiful women dancing around naked, with lots of long lingering close-ups of their bodies in action.

The girls are fine, so why don't I like this? The ending credits give a clue -- there are almost as many editors as girls. The scanning, panning, rotating, zoom-in videography is annoying enough. When you add the frenetic, artsy-fartsy, now she's naked, now she's dressed, now she's half-naked editing you end up with a highly annoying result. Playboy, get a clue.

Playboy / 1998 Video Playmate Calendar is 58 minutes long and release on video October 21, 1997. I was very disappointed with this video calendar. Most of the time the nudity is brief or none at all. Even my favorite Playmate, Angel Boris, held back. I believe only two Playmates were fully nude throughout a segment and not both (see comments below). I will usually a single out the worst three Playmates, but not this time. Let begin my review on each Playmate.

Jami Ferrell\Miss January-Jami shows very little nudity or being topless in the basketball segment and topless only in segment two.
Jennifer Miriam\Miss February-Jennifer is only nude 15% of the time in the first segment and 35% of the time in segment two.
Priscilla Taylor\Miss March-Priscilla shows full nudity in segment one and a little nudity in segment two.
Jennifer Allen\Miss April-She completely nude starting a few seconds into segment one and a few quick takes of full nudity in segment two.
Kimber West\Mrs. May-A few quick takes of Kimber being topless or nude in segment on. Mainly the clothes stay on with only a few seconds of Kimber being topless and even less nude in segment two.
Nadine Chanz\Miss June-Switches back and forth in segment one to clothes on and fully nude. Nadine becomes fully nude starting in the middle of segment two.
Carrie Stevens\Miss July-Carrie shows full nudity in the pond segment and fully nude starting in the middle of segment two.
Lynn Thomas\Miss August-Lynn shows some nudity in segment one and two.
Kelly Monaco\Miss September-A little nudity is segment one and full nudity in segment two.
Ulrika Ericsson\Miss October-Quick takes of full nudity; otherwise the clothes stay on in segment one and full nudity towards the end of segment two.
Angel Boris\Miss November-Switches back and forth in segment one to clothes on and fully nude or topless and less in segment two.
Victoria Silvstedt\Miss December (Playmate of the Year in 1997)-Victoria is sometimes fully nude in segment one and about 10% of the time in segment two.

These Playmates in my opinion were very conservative full be nude long periods of time. Playboy / 1998 Video Playmate Calendar gets a D-.

This video is very choppy. The girls are very beautiful, but the excess editing and camera work ruin it. In one scene the girl is naked, in the next she is dressed, and in the next scene she is naked, and on and on it goes. With beautiful girls such as these, why do we need costumes at all. Playboy, enough of the "Hi Tech" editing, camera work, costumes and "rock video" style of production. Just bring on the naked playments.

Years later after enjoying Kelly Monaco on Dancing with the Stars, she is my favorite reason for owning this. Back then my favorite reason was Ulrika Ericsson. Two hot babes.

Jennifer Allen, Carrie Stevens, & Victoria Silvstedt would round out my top picks for an overall good year.
