This thin MP5 player matches my Nokia 5310 XpressMusic very well.I have used two MP4s bought from eBay. One has fake memory, the other one does not have good LCD - narrow view angle. I use it mainly watching videos. I did not try other functions yet. It looks better than ipod. I only used it for a short time. Will give more update later. Pro: 1. Wide screen aspect. 2. Better LCD view angle. 3. Mount to the PC like a flash drive. I hate the media players (such as zune) that requires a special software to connect to the PC. 4. Good video quality. 5. As seller is in USA, it is easy to return if there is any problem. Con: It is not name brand . If you are used to pay a lot of extra money for the brand itself, that is not for you ;-)

NOT HAPPY,

First of all I am referring to the 8GB model (in blue). I can't say for sure that this is the same unit since they don't carry a brand name anywhere on it or on its packaging. The unit I got came from China, but that's about all I know about its origin. First of all there are no support for this device that I can find anywhere on the net. It did not come with a cd or instructions on how to update the firmware, it simply says on the book that you can.The menu is quite confusing at first and takes time to get use to. The second time I tried to put in my microsd card it somehow slipped between the slot and the front cover causing it to go inside the unit. I could hear it rattling inside. With a little bit of luck I managed to unscrew the two tiny screws and crack the unit open far enough to rattle the card out. You have to be extremely careful putting it into the slot. It does not do a good job arranging the songs in your media library and you will find songs from one album inside another one. On a good note the sound is pretty good. The video picture is dead on crisp and clear with beautiful quality, however it will not play all my video files. For some reason files named with an .avi extintion will not play unless it's put as .AVI which I can't understand why. Also I notice a little choppiness in the frames from time to time. There is also at this time no kind of protective case available for this unit so you got to be extra careful moving it around. I do not recommend this device.

I purchased it for it's RMVB and FLV capabilities. All my RMVB videos run fine WITHOUT conversion. All downloaded videos from YouTube run fine directly too.The sound is good. The battery lasts less than two and half hour. The recharge time is about an hour. (In contrast, my creative ZEN lasts about four hours with heavy-heavy compressed videos. ZEN requires four hours to convert one hour worth of video time on the PC/XT - which is painful.) The one thing that is not mentioned is the MicroSD expansion capability. I just orded one and will find out more later.

This was my second shot at trying out a cheap chinese copy. It had 5 pretty good reviews and seemed to be what I needed.Pros: - cheap price - pretty good screen detail / pretty good size at 3" - FF/Rewind works quite well (and needs to! see cons) - compact: about the size of a credit card Cons: - screen very dim even on brightest setting - battery life worse with each charge (down to about 20 minutes for video) - the volume control button doubles as the "back" button - work it wrong and you bail on your movie. - a very weak decoder: less then half the AVI's I've tried don't work. The player will often hang in some spots of "good" AVI's and dump you out completely - requiring you to start over and fast forward past the problem area (one movie I'm trying to watch tonight has had 5 spots requiring restart - and still haven't finished it) - the built in speaker is useless Beware of all these no-name players. I suspect they all have the same internal hardware but simply wrapped up in different cases with variations on their controls and screen sizes. I will be investing in a Video IPod, Zune, or other name brand player. I would recommend saving the headache of one of these crappy players and just shell out the extra cash for a "real" one.

I just got this player. Surprised by the video image, though I do have a few complaints. Sound is good, and the screen quality is sharp and crisp. Contrary to another review here on Amazon, this player does play both .avi and .AVI in their original format with no conversion needed, and it does not care if the file extension is upper or lower case. The motion quality could be better, and much of the time audio to video synchronization is off. The motion can be jerky. This player does come with a very small, worthless speaker in the back case. Headphones supplied are two pair. The black set with volume control is the quality pair, and plays loud and clear. The cheap set is nice to have if you have kids and want to keep the better set for yourself, or when they get a little older. Loosing the cheaper set is no big deal, but nice that they have included two pair. The only other thing is that the player depicted in this photo shows black with red. Mine came as white with red, so what you get color wise may not be exactly the same. The product to me is worth the $55 because no converting is required. It's a tradeoff. Maybe a better qaulity name brand plays better, but I don't have the time to convert movies. It's very convenient, and small. Some suggestions to the makers. Smooth out the motion, get the audio sync'd and integrate a fold out stand on the back case so like a small picture frame, this player could stand up on its own without leaning it against things to watch it hands free. It's not an iPod, or a Zen, but then again, it's not a couple hundred bucks either, and no wasted conversion times. Just drag and drop. One last thing that happened but not the end of the world. While watching the same movie, it will jump to the next movie for no reason at all when it hits the same point in the middle of the first movie? Maybe, just some kind of a bug, but I just go back and fast forward past the trouble spot, and it works fine the rest of the movie. Something in the movie file causes this, but it's weird how part of the file can cause a function chnage in the player? All in all I'm still happy because of no file conversions!
