5.0 out of 5 stars A teenagers review (14) an excellent little device
I bought this for myself with my own money for $104.88 on amazon.com. The price has recently gone up but that doesnt make it any less worth buying. This is my first mp3 player so i dont have much to compare it to, but, having it for about 2 days i am very impressed. I think that this is a great starter player for people new to the market. I love the extra features...

2.0 out of 5 stars HELP!
I bought this in December. I cannot seem to get all the features to work and the book that came with it is pretty much worthless. I have looked and looked online for help and haven't found any. I am able to download music to it, but that is about it.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: WaveX 830C 512MB MP3 Player with Color Screen, JPEG Viewer, Built-in Speakers (Electronics)
I love the extra features. The radio and radio recording features are extremely handy(when u hear a new song u can quick press the button and u will have a quality recording of it). Also the voice recorder is fun to play with. The sound is vivid and clear. I have not used the picture feature yet so i have nothing to say about that. I have also found that the player is extremely durable. I, im sorry to say, have dropped it 2or3 times. I hastily scowered it for scratches or indents but could not find a single mark. The player also looks great with its sleek and silvery look. The color looks great with 65,000 colors.

Now to a few complaints: I cannot get the thing to put the music in the music folder. This is probably easily remedies by something i have not figured out yet. Also, the games are kinda dumb. Othello is like totally pointless(maybe cuz i cant figure it out) but Treasure is pleasantly entertaining at times resembling the puzzle game "Rush Hour". Hopefully WaveX might release some more games for it. Also, the menus are kind of complicated and hard to get through at first, as buttons are used for many different things. My greatest regret even before buying this was that it only had 512 mgb but i found this to be not much of a problem as it fits or will fit all my favorite songs and i plan to get another mp3 with more space in a few years. Also, the headphones that come with it are odd, they dont stay in the headphone hole that well sometimes but they only need to be pushed back in.
Overall, this is a great starter player for those new to the market. This quality product is filled with features and the low price is almost to good to be true. Even if you are a veteran user you might find this useful as it is a near perfect mix between the big players (ipods, irivers) and the smaller flash drive players. I say it is a definite must buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best, November 19, 2005

Firstly, I've dealt with Encross Enterprises customer service without any problems. I'm happy with their electronics too - the two best features of this player in my opinion, are the high quality recording (comparable or better than that on most iRiver models) and the mini speakers. As someone who uses my player mostly to hear and create speech podcasts, this is a valuable feature. Considering the size of the speakers, the sound quality is suprisingly good. The included earbuds are uncomfortable - for portability and comfort, I prefer the Sony MDR-A35G headphones. The rechargeable battery is great, and this model offers 15 hours of power per charge. The games, and the txt & jpeg viewer functions are nice gimmicks, but I ended up not using them much.

If you're looking for an MP3 player, I highly recommend you consider WaveX. It may not be as recognizable a brand as other options, but with WaveX, you get more features and great value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Cheap MP3 Player, March 15, 2006
This review is from: WaveX 830C 512MB MP3 Player with Color Screen, JPEG Viewer, Built-in Speakers (Electronics)
I got this mp3 player for Christmas after picking it out myself. I had never really had much of an interest in having a mp3 player but figured it was probably a good idea when I had over 30 cds that I had made. It was very easy to put music on it after plugging it into the computer all you have to do is drag the files you want into the music folder. The MP3 player itself is very easy to navigate. You have to turn off the power or not play anything before you delte something though which is sort of annoying. For this reason I tend to delete stuff on the computer. I liked all the nice features though I use it mostly to listen to my music. I love having the shuffle and repeat options as i use the rather often. All of the various EQ's are nice as well since some songs sound better on one than the other. I liked the adjustable 3D effect. The games are nice for when you are bored particulaly treasure hunt, which is just like the puzzle game Rush Hour. I don't use the memo or e-book functions. I have used the JPEG viewer which is handy if you want to show someone a picture without printing it out. The battery life is great. However I wish I had the AC Adapter which is optional. This is just nice for vacations when there is no computer available to charge it on. However, I can't figure out how to get it. If anyone knows how to get it if you didn't get it with the MP3 player that would be helpful. The small size is handy because it fits in your pocket and it is easy to take to school with me. The outside speakers are great,I use them all the time so I don't have to carry it around with me when around the house. The radio is nice but I find it doesnt work that well in cars but that could just be where I am. I also like the sleep function which I found a week or so ago since i like to fall asleep listening to my music. At times I wish it held more music but since I never hear it all anyways and theres always that song that I always skip it's not a problem. All in all it's a great MP3 player which I prefer over ipods which I find to be overrated. It may not hold as much but it does a lot more and is half the price.

I bought two of these MP3 players for my kids for Christmas. They love them. My husband and I are happy to have our radio and CD players back in our cars. They take the players everywhere. I would definitely recommend these.

4.0 out of 5 stars WaveX 830C, great little MP3 player, only rub is USB1.1, December 19, 2005

This review is from: WaveX 830C 512MB MP3 Player with Color Screen, JPEG Viewer, Built-in Speakers (Electronics)
Very nice little MP3 player, with bonus that it can show images on the little screen. Interesting interface, but quite easy to navigate with a little practice. The joystick and pressure switch that surround it can be activated when in a case (not included), so it is good to use the lock switch which only allows brief activation of the device when pressure hits the on/off switch.

Battery life exceeded expectations, too. And built-in Li-ion far superior to button batteries or AAA NiMH in comparable units.

Only rub is this player only supports USB1.1, not USB2.0. Wish it had an SD card interface, too. But at this price (acquired for under $70 just after Thanksgiving 2005) very nice little MP3 player for our teen.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: WaveX 830C 512MB MP3 Player with Color Screen, JPEG Viewer, Built-in Speakers (Electronics)
this mp3 player is the best there is. belive me i know have a ipod and it sucks compared to this beauty ,and is $200 dallars more cheaper . you can simply drag and drop any music file you want .
and the sound is crystal clear esspeacialy when using bass it sound so much better also you can view pictures off the internet and store them to your computer and transfer them to the player and you can can create them as it were a background
while playing the song ,and you can aslo play games that look like gameboy games. yep this thing rocks and you'll be smart to buy this as a mp3 player for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tons of Features!!!! However.........., September 24, 2005

This review is from: WaveX 830C 512MB MP3 Player with Color Screen, JPEG Viewer, Built-in Speakers (Electronics)
Yeap there is a whole lotta features on this little baby, but lets be honest, do you get a mp3 player to read a book or play video games on?? Yeah I didn't either. This things is EXTREMLY difficult to navigate at first... I took me two days of screwing with the thing before I got it right and the users guide may as well be in greek because it helped me not. The ear buds are made for elephant ears and the thing has locked up on me a few times and once it even completly wiped out everything on it for no apparent reason.

Now for the good things... The internal battery life thus far has been amazing. I just charge it up and I don't have to recharge it for a week or so with regular use. The sound is realy pretty good coming from tiny little external speakers although its not very loud but a good amount of noise comes from two speakers smaller than a dime. And the big plus is the FM radio so when your tired little songs are all boring you can switch over...

I have nothing to compare this to, so maybe I am expecting too much for soemthing soooo small...
