2.0 out of 5 stars Not User Friendly, February 25, 2009
This review is from: MP3/MP4/WMA Player & FM transmitter with 1GB Samsung flash memory built-in (1.8 Inch CSTN Screen)
If your not a bit of a Nerd with computers, you might want to pass on this. As stated in the review by Dog Lover, The instruction are bare. The converter tool file is in the memory of the unit. But at first WinXp Explorer only found the unit as a removable drive , like a flash drive. For some reason...later it showed up in Explorer as two different drives. It was then I could acccess the install program in it's memory. If your wondering why I didn't send it back ,it's because I love music and these kinds of gadgets. I am now trying to figure the button set up on the unit.In ending this review, I must say it's sounds good in the car, Dog Lover let me know if you figure out the buttons...Thanks...Tony UPDATE...Trial N Error. I discovered how to pick the music folder you want to hear. While at the play screen(pink n purple screen)and a song playing- Press the center button-pause/play button. Then press the Menu button, you will advance to Local Folders screen. Using the advance buttons(on right of unit) pick the local folder...then press menu again, continue to do so till you advance to your desired folder and artist. Hope that helps.....Tony

After trying several car mp3 transmitters I have to say this is about the closest one to one that actually works. (With a few exceptions)
What I was looking for was a unit that would have a strong enough transmitter (this transmitter works better than any one I have tried) and be able to read more that the 20 folders that most units have as a cut off point.
I am using a 4gb SDHC card that gives me 49 folders (or albums/CDs) plus the 20 you can store in the internal memory. I plan on trying an 8GB SD card and will update on how that goes.
It boots right up and starts right back on the note that you stopped it on. The files play great in a 256kbps Mp3 format all the information about the song artist album is right there on the screen the EQ works great too.

The instructions are worthless as it shows a drawing of the buttons and just says "this is the menu button", with no other explanation. So trying to switch anything using the buttons on the unit is a dangerous task while driving and you might come up with the particular combination of buttons one out of 20 tries.
If anyone has a simple explanation on how the menu buttons and so on work, please post it in your review, It will help many of us who are just pushing buttons till it changes.
It does have a remote which works well for most functions.
The one function the remote lacks (and is very irritating) is the ability to switch from folder to folder so if you do have to restart from the beginning of your media card you will have to go through one song at a time. This is a daunting task if say you are 19 folders deep and have to go through all those songs to get back to that point.
It would have been better to loose the language button on the remote and use the button to switch between the internal memory and the SD card.

The description says it comes with an "AMV conversion tool installation CD" this is a bit confusing because there is no "CD" it is actually a folder in the unit that you can install on your computer through the USB cable. The software works well and it is easy to use. The firmware update tool didn't work as for most units that use the "Wilson Co LTD" firmware.
There is no .125 input jack for running other players through to fm transmitter.

All said, this unit would be perfect if it had the ability to switch from folder to folder on the remote like the Soundfly SD, (Which I also own) but for listening to music this is a better unit. If they can only fix this one thing.

UPDATE..... I tried an 8GB SDHC card (actually a Micro SD card with an adapter and it played 97 CDs/Albums all the way through! One thing to keep in mind; this is a $35.00- $40.00 item, so the processor is not very fast, so when you go through that many folders you have to push the button and wait for them to come up, maybe a minute or so. But still a great item!

works great I like it and will probably buy some for xmas presents.

Ok the bad parts:
1) there is a fast forward to the next audio file but you do not seem to be able to forward to the middle of an MP3.

2)If you turn off the car in the middle of playing a file it will restart at the beginning of a file. Getting 20 minutes into a 30 minute old time radio show then turn off the car... just to start over.

3) If my cell phone charger is running, the transmitter adds an impeadance whine to the radio.

3) I just found a couple of spots near where I live that has a stronger signal than the mp3 player. so as I roll up to a couple of corners I will get a commercial radio station instead of what transmitter is doing.
