Tony Mitton is a widely anthologized and popular children's poet, as well as a teacher and performing poet. His Royal Raps won the 1997 Nottinghamshire Libraries/Dillons Children's Book Award. The Red and White Spotted Handkerchief is the winner of the 2000 Smarties Prize. His recent collection of poetry, Plum, won the Publishers Weekly 2003 Cuffies Award for Best Book of Poetry. Tony teamed with illustrator Ant Parker on several books, including Dazzling Diggers, Roaring Rockets, and Terrific Trains. Tony lives in Cambridge, England with his family and his pet cat, Tiggy. This book is fun and colorful! The penguins are so cute!
Tony Mitton is a great author who writes such great stories! There is Wonderful Vocabulary in this story.. it's a slightly longer story for a preschoolers attention span but, still a wonderful story that keeps them interested. Especially all those penguins lovers...

My two year old loves this book. (He does have an extremely long attention span for books though.) Even shorter attentions would like pointing out all the colorful animals. The penguins drawn very cute and each is drawn with it's own little personality, like the one who has his stuff animal with him all the time. My husband does like to make fun of the seals and penguins making friends though.
