Book Description

Franklin D. Murphy Lectures June 1986
A Guide To Arkansas Horse Trails is a compilation of Arkansas history, folklore, and trail riding information. Because life seems to have a way of getting more complicated everyday, this guide is designed to help you locate that perfect trail with that little slice of solitude you've been looking for. Each trail has been ridden by the author, with the support from numerous friends. Directions are given to all trails, followed by more specific details about each specific trail loop. The author has included information about campground, facilities, fees and maps.

From the Author

There is one thing I know after having completed revision to this book; it is a labor of love- a love of horses, mules, trails, camping and special people who love the same things as me.

More and more horse lovers are discovering the beauty of Arkansas for the first time by riding the many marked trails that allow them to explore the joys of the national forests at their leisure. Riding your own horse down secluded forest trails and along old logging roads offers a personal freedom not found in any other types of wilderness travel. The Arkansas Trail Riders Association, Arkansas Mule Riders Association, and The Backcountry Horsemen of the Ozarks take pride in these trails. We extend a warm welcome to those who would like to share our state's natural beauty. All we ask in return is your courtesy in helping maintain what we have worked so hard to build. What we have didn't come easy. Please follow all posted regulations and use your common sense. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
