4.0 out of 5 stars Cute, durable but wish it was just a little bigger.
We purchased this almost 2 years ago when my daughter was 4. It's very durable, folds and unfolds easily - it's been dragged all around the house and has retained it's shape nicely. It's light weght so my daughter can move it and around and set it back up herself. At 6 years old, it still gets used but I think it's close to it's end of use. Now she prefers to make forts...

3.0 out of 5 stars Smaller than expected
I was disappointed when I opened the box and set up the tent because it was much smaller than I expected it to be. My friend's daughter has an almost identical tent which is much bigger. Apparently there are two different kinds, one made by Playhut and one made by The Disney Store.

Now she prefers to make forts with sheets but that requires mom's help so this still works when mom isn't available. Our only complaint is that it's a bit small. Even at four, her and a friend could just sit in it. It doesn't fit two kids and a bunch of dolls - which is what she really wanted and why the forts with chairs and sheets has won out. But it has been used a lot as the 'snack room'. It's been used a lot and I would recommend it but if you find something similar that is slightly larger, I would say purchased that instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let Your Imagine Run !, November 16, 2004

2yr old dd received this as a gift and uses it every day. She loves the fact that she has her own little space to call her own... she even allows mom & dad to join in every once in awhile :)

PROS
- Popular Princess theme
- Vibrant colors
- Easy to access door on one side of play tent
- Open roof so that mom & dad can check in
- Easy to fold in half or twist to it's smaller original state for storage

CONS:
- Would have liked a vinyl case to store it in
- Tips over easily (however it's light enough for little ones to tip back into place)
- Not very large... 2 smaller children can stand in it or possibly sit, however there would be no room for toys. Mom or dad can fit, however only with child sitting on lap and must pull tent over your head, there's no way an adult or larger child could crawl thru the door.

OTHER REVIEWERS COMPLAINED OF THE METAL BENDING. WE'VE NOT HAD THAT PROBLEM YET, HOWEVER I CAN SEE HOW IT MIGHT HAPPEN. I WOULD SAY FOR THE MONEY, THIS IS AN AVERAGE TO GOOD BUY. DD SEEMS TO LOVE THE "TENT" ATMOSPHERE. IT DOESN'T TAKE UP AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF SPACE AND IT IS EASY TO TAKE DOWN AND STORE.

We bought this for our daugthers 4th birthday because she always wanted me to make her a tent out of blankets and chairs.

She loves to play in it, but it is a bit on the small side. You can really only fit one child in there comfortably. Two is alright if they're not to big, but then there isn't any room to take any toys inside.

I have had some problems with the frame, occasionally if one of my kids leans on the side and knocks it over the frame will become deformed and then when you put it back up one side won't stand up straight and lean a bit. This is usually remedied by folding it up and bending it around a bit, but it is annoying.

My 2 year old daughter recently recieved this as a present from her grandparents. She loves the disney princesses and was ver excited. I was happy to see how easy it was to put up and take down, she plays with it in her room almost everyday and I love the fact that we can take it down before she goes to sleep. Overall we are very pleased with this tent, although it would be nice if it was a bit bigger so that I could play in there with her.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disney Princess Castle is too flimsy, May 28, 2007

My kids have fun climbing in and out of this although there really is only room for one child at a time. I had it for one week and it's already fallen apart. The fabric is flimsy and the rod to give it somewhat of a frame has gone through the fabric therefore it collapses. Time for the trash on this one. It looked better in the ad.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good toy, September 5, 2004

My nieces have tons of toys. Yet this tent is one of their favorites. They play "camping" almost every day with it. In fact, we had to take them camping this summer, because after playing so much with this tent, they wanted the real thing.

Con: One can't lean up against the sides. It's easy to roll over in it (the 18 mo. old gets in it and rolls around the living room -- on purpose). However, no matter how much rolling, it always springs back to its original shape when an adult intervenes.

Con: An adult doesn't fit in it :(

Pro: It easily folds flat for easy storage. The girls can assemble it quickly and lug it around the house to set up camp wherever they want.

I got this for my daughter after a relative bought her a castle tent that took up her WHOLE room and was made of PVP piping poles that locked together. Major pain to set up and take down. I liked this becuase it smaller, yet big enough for her and my 4 yr old son to play in. My 3 year old daughter seems very happy with its size. It folds up flat making storage super easy it can be slid under a bed or in a closet. I don't re-fold it down to its small round size because I found it unneccesary. This is a great toy for the money and very durable. It also comes with a connector tunnel that can be used with any other Play Hut tent.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing...., January 28, 2008

I was really excited when I picked up this tent at the store recently. It looked like something my 2 year old daughter would love and it was a reasonable price. Wow, were we disappointed when we set it up! It is nothing like the box pictures at first glance. If you study the picture on the box closely, you realize it is just a picture made to make the product look great and large at a certain angle. The picture really is accurate when you compare it to the tent though. This tent is only big enough for 1 child and it falls over constantly. We had trouble getting it to stand up at all sometimes. You have to spread out the bottom part as wide as you can in order to get any stability at all. The kids loved trying to get into it and then having it fall over though, so they did get a little entertainment out of it before I returned it to the store. I can't believe this product even made it to store shevles!!

Everytime my daughter tried to go inside the castle, it fell over on her due to it being so flimsy and the lack of support at the bottom. Eventually she became frustrated and refused to play with it. Like I said, it's not worth the hassle.
