My 2 year old son is a huge Thomas fan. I bought the bed topper so that my son could transition from the toddler bed to a twin bed. This topper made the transition fun and easy. My son loves his new bed. This topper is easy to set up although there are four little plastic rods that do not fit where the instructions say they should go. Other than that, this topper is great. I would recommend that if your child is transitioning from a toddler bed to a twin bed, make sure you have bed rails on both sides of the bed. My son fell between the topper and the bed.

This was a great birthday present. To use it, though, we had to take the bed all apart and get rid of the bed's original wooden headboard and footboard because the bed tent would not fit over those. So, now, we have the boxspring on the floor and mattress on top, with the Thomas bed tent surrounding that. We do have the bed next too the wall, so maybe that helps things to stand up properly.

It makes the bed nice and cozy, and our son just loves it so much. He always went to bed pretty well, but now he can't wait to get into bed and go to sleep.

I was afraid it would be difficult to change the sheets and even make the bed, but it is not that more trouble to do it with the bed tent in place.

We think this was a great purchase and highly recommend it to parents who are willing to change your bed's setup to use it.

This bed topper springs right open and is very easy to set-up. It sits right over the bed, and there is a tunnel opening in the back that the child can crawl through to enter the bed area. The problem I have is that my son's bed is a toddler bed, so it doesn't fit as well as it would if it was a twin size bed. My son sometimes falls trying to climb over the site of the tent to get to his bed because there is a big space between the two. Therefore, it works with a toddler bed, but I would recommend it more so for a twin size bed. It does stand alone as a play area, and I'm pretty sure a tunnel could be connected to the opening in the back to make a playland.
Anyway, my son absolutely loves this and I would recommend it for anyone who has a Thomas and Friend's fan in the house.

My husband and I wanted to have our son sleeping in a bigger "Twin" size bed. We didn't know how he was going to react to changing beds. When my son saw his new bed with the Topper - he had a big smile on his face. He loved it! This Thomas Topper made the change to his new bed with absolutely "no problems". At the beginning, he always asks if he can "sleep with Thomas".

My husband set it up and told me the directions were useless. It is flimsy and the top slants to one side as to the picture shown above. Yet, like I said my son loves it! It made a change so smooth and easy - it was worth the money. Then later when he grows up and out of "Thomas" - we can take it down and get regular headboards for him.

This may be ok for a child that carefully plays and gets in and out of their bed, but not my son! (He is almost 3, and a bit wild)...This thing falls apart if you even look at it the wrong way, let alone leave it with a young boy! The manufacturer is not very helpful (or knowledgeable about their product, mind you)...We are done with replacements of this hunk of junk and finally getting him the REAL Thomas bed that is made by Little Tikes!

My husband and I gave our son this Thomas bed topper for his birthday. We set it up on his bed as a surprise. It took about five minutes...very easy to put up. My son loves sleeping inside Thomas every night. I'm so glad we purchased this item. The only drawback I can think of, is that the topper will work better if you have a footboard on your child's bed. Since we don't, it causes the topper to fall slightly forward towards the foot of the bed. They don't mention this in the product description. No worries though. It's still a great Thomas item.

My little boy really likes it, and it took the sting out of the fact that big sister got a whole new bed.

There are two downsides, however:
1) Seams are not very strong.
2) The width and length are enough to fit around a mattress only, which means that if you have an external headboard or footboard the train will not fit over it and sit on the floor. You will slip the train over the mattress and it will rest on the frame at the level of the mattress. It is not designed for this, and if it does not sit on the floor the panel with the "wheels" toward the front is higher than the mattress and blocks entry to the bed. My son throws himself across that panel, and I doubt the seams are going to hold up very long.

All that said, it is a (relatively) inexpensive way to have a Thomas bed!

We bought the Thomas the Tank Engine topper at the same time we bought a Pixar Cars topper. The Cars topper comes off the bed whenever our grandson moves around in it. It shifts. It's made of scratchy material. The worst part is that it is totally enclosed so the child is scared when he gets in it because he can't see out.

The Thomas topper, however, stays put, is soft, has a small "door" so you can get under the bed and a "trap door" so his brother can crawl through the back. It's an adventure and has helped him sleep in his own bed. Unfortunately, the child with the Cars topper keeps crawling in bed with him.

I would recommend the Thomas topper to anyone.

My son fell in love with this. He wanted a Thomas the train bed and I didn't want to invest money into something he would outgrow eventually so this was a perfect match. The price was reasonable and the durabilyt and quality are great. It has brought loads of fun and many smiles to him and now he loves sleeping in his bed.

This is an excellent product. We were looking at buying a themed toddler bed for our 2 yr old, and he loves thomas. These were very expensive ($300). The bed topper fits perfectly over a twin bed, is super easy to install, and the bed looks exactly like Thomas. Also, when he's older the topper can be taken off just as easily to leave an ordinary twin bed that will last him many many years. Will also act as a stand alone play tent, although we are not using it for this purpose. However, you will need bed rails as they can fall between the bed and topper. If you're considering a themed toddler bed purchase but don't want to pay the high prices for something you'll likely only use for a short time, I can't recommend this product enough. I am very happy with this purchase and great value for the money paid
