I am intrigued by Mamie Van Doren, who at only 80 years old, is one of the few actresses from the classic era who is still alive and kicking! Others have long passed on so she must be doing something right! I love the fact that she has adapted to the current era and is very active on Facebook, Twitter, her blog, etc.

Although she played the role of "dumb blonde" for many years, Mamie is obviously a very intelligent woman and this definitely comes across in her book. She is a very good writer. I truly enjoyed reading the story of her rise to fame and also her interesting "trysts" with many of Hollywood's leading men. This book was juicy and I couldn't put it down!

Mamie Van Doren is a true survivor of the blonde bombshells and her book is very honest and straight forward which is rare in Hollywood these days, she tells her story so well in this book. She talks about her love affairs with some of hollywoods leading actors and her friendships with Marilyn and Jayne Mansfield as well as her beginnings as one of America's last standing bombshells. I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Mamie's.

I love it when the author tells it like it is. And Mamie does just that in her life story. The Rock Hudson date she went on was most interesting. Some of the other celebrities she describes are not so much to me, but Hudson was a Star. The filmography is very good as it helps list all her films, The photos are wonderful too with some rare one that I've never seen before. When I met Mamie in Hollywood she was a wonderful lady. I sure respect her for standing up for women's and gay rights also. The fabulous Mamie Van Doren is a Star ! One of the last living legends of the Golden Age of Hollywood.
