5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful album, but they are even better live, March 19, 2000

This review is from: Playing With Fire (Audio CD)
I first heard Dervish in a small music shop in Ballyshannon, Ireland. The music's raw energy caught me instantly. Later in the week, I saw them play at the Ballyshannon Folk Festival. The experience blew my mind. The tent was packed full of all different kinds of people: drunk 20-somethings, stuffy American tourists, little kids, Irish shopkeepers ... all riveted by every note. This is an amazing group of musicians and an amazing recording.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most consistently excellent Celtic band ever., January 16, 2000

Playing with Fire isn't quite as good as At the End of the Day, but it's still a five-star album. The opening track of this album is one of my favorites of any of Dervish's albums.
