Book Description

Done with being the world's biggest pushover, Haley decides that things are going to change starting with the aggravating neighbor who has too much charm and not enough restraint. What she didn't expect was to sucked into his world, but Haley has a game plan and she won't let herself forget just what the bad boy next door is capable of.

The last thing Jason expected was for his little shy neighbor to go Rambo on him over some ruined flowers. After he decides to take her under his wing he can't help but that notice that she fits very nicely in his life. Now the only left is to convince her that this is anything but a game.

4.0 out of 5 stars a neighbor from hell = a match made in heaven January 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I really read this one with a smile on my face. The interaction between h and H is fun and lively and even endearing. Our hero, Jason, is a jerk, but don't let that throw you off. I personally go for the surly, rough around the edges hero, and in Jason's case, he's more crude than total jerk. He's definitely rough and calls it how he sees it, doesn't mind peppering his language with curse words, and he doesn't suffer fools. But more that than, he also has a good, tender side and develops a real sweet spot where his next-door neighbor is concerned. Bad boy, meet good girl.

It all started five years ago when Jason moved in and Haley saw him taking a pee on the oak tree in his front yard. Yep, rough and crude, and this attitude of his, all in your face, scared Haley and she avoided him whenever possible. Haley's that soft and sweet heroine, sexy and maybe a little nerdy in her glasses, and she's also in need of a backbone adjustment. That's where Jason comes in. One day Haley has had it with being timid and taking crap from most everyone in her life, and Jason just pushes the wrong button that day. This leads to Haley confronting Jason about his behavior, and the rest is history.

From that moment on, Jason is hooked, and he decides to be her protector. He likes her sweetness, her looks, her smarts, and he sees in her a chance to help make her stronger and more likely to stand up for herself. It's really cute and funny how he calls Haley his 'little grasshopper.' He thinks he's her Mr. Miyagi, the sensei who will teach his protege the art of toughness. Jason just didn't know it yet, but he'd met his match. He doesn't realize that, in protecting Haley from loser guys, he's also saving her to have all to himself.

I loved this brash hero who was ready for a fight, all protective and possessive. For all his faults, Jason was charming in his own way, and funny as well. There's so much chemistry between Haley and Jason. I even had to laugh out loud a few times at them, and the rest of the time, I was definitely smiling as I was reading. This is a sexy fun read, just really a good time. It's one of those stories where you feel as if you spent time with two good friends, those friends who have the hots for each other but don't know it yet, and you can't wait to see it when it finally happens. A cute, fun and charming read.

One second I wanted to smack Jason the next I could just kiss him and , Haily is just to cute and fiesty. I just could not help to keep reading to see what she would do next. Hopful you will enjoy this book as much as I have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soooo good a laugh out loud series! September 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I just had to write a review when I read "playing for keeps" and "perfection". This series is very good it's a book that keeps you smiling. If you love a good romance with some pretty steamy sex scenes you will love it! I cannot wait for the third book in the series the characters in each of the books are really relatable and you get very drawn to them from the minute you start reading.

R.L. Mathewson (1979-Present) was born and raised in Massachusetts. She is known for her humor, quick wit and ability to write realistic characters that readers can easily relate to. She currently has several paranormal and contemporary romance series published including A Neighbor From Hell series.

Growing up, R.L. Mathewson was painfully shy and was known to hide behind a book or two. After high school she attended college, worked as a bellhop, fast food cook, and a museum worker until she decided to take an EMT course. Working as an EMT helped her get over her shyness as well as left her with some fond memories and some rather disturbing ones that from time to time show up in one of her books. When a back injury left her unable to work as an EMT any longer she began working in Residential homes only to discover that she just didn't have the stomach for the job.

Today, R.L. Mathewson is the single mother of two young children that keep her on her toes and enjoy scaring the heck out of her with their antics. She has a bit of a romance novel addiction as well as a major hot chocolate addiction and on a perfect day she combines the two. When she's not writing she's playing online Scrabble, coloring with her kids, or trying to figure out how one of her kids managed to get a chocolate pudding footprint on the ceiling.
