Book Description

While growing up, Zimon always lived in his older brother’s shadow. While his sibling went on to join the military and came back a war hero, things grew even worse as Zimon’s life spiraled out of control, and he found himself in a dark place where he came close to losing his life.

When Zimon’s brother fell in love, all the rules changed in their once nice, neat life, and Zimon finds himself in the role of supporting his brother in his newest dream, opening and running the biggest hockey rink in the metro Detroit area. While Zimon had never envisioned his future being the manager at the front service desk of a rink, it beats working as a shot-boy at the gay club, so he jumps at the chance for the new job.

Bryce never imagined that, while at the height of his NHL career, he’d find himself becoming part owner of a rundown hockey rink. Yet that’s exactly what happens when a group of his friends get it in their crazy heads to start the new business. One day when he’s in town, he decides to check the place out. When he clashes with the bratty, yet cute, man running the front desk, Bryce is both annoyed and intrigued.

Will Zimon and Bryce ever be able to get over their differences? Or will the final buzzer sound before they find a way to happiness?

4.0 out of 5 stars Opposites Attract April 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I've read and enjoyed most of the books Ecstasy Books has released from Stephani Hecht, but I think this one is better than most of them. She creates two enjoyable, if seemingly mismatched, heros in Zimon and Bryce and she also creates an enjoyable story line as the two characters fight and insult each other right into an intense love relationship. At the end of the story, she adds a huge twist to the plot line that ratchets up the tension between the two men even more, a twist that could have ended their love relationship before it got going very far, but instead it solidified it into something credibly permanent. I like romances best that involve some strong and credible tension/conflict between the major characters, with the caveat that the characters need to be credible and likeable, and these two guys are both. Good romance, good sex scenes that are appropriate for the story, good plot line, good characters, good read. If you like Ms. Hecht's m/m romance, I'd say go for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Story with an unexpected turn April 30, 2013
By Nic
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the story of the relationship between Zimon and Bryce. Zimon is viewed by his brother and others as irresponsible and only out to have fun. But Bryce sees underneath Zimon's exterior and realises there is much more to the man.

This story takes a very unexpected turn. It is great to see a particular sensitive subject (not saying what it is as I don't want to spoil the story) addressed in this series but I really do think that it deserves more focus. I think a longer book would have added much more to the story. I wanted to see more of Zimon's own response to the situation and much more of the reactions of those around him. The ending just felt too rushed, particularly for such a serious subject.

4.0 out of 5 stars WOW! October 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've read all the other Blue Line Hockey stories and they were good, but this one was REALLY good! You will love Zimon, his quirky personality and you'll find yourself emotionally going up and down as he confronts a host of problems. This story shows that true love can (and will) overcome a lot.
