This Book is a must have for any player who looks to improve his/her playing. By reading this book, My playing range went through the roof after using the techniques suggested. Arturo is an Amazing player and I am planning on purchasing many more of his books. I have read many other books on techniques for the trumpet and this is by far the best.

I have been playing the trumpet for 4 years, Since I have gotten this book my flexibility,
Range, and Tone has become much better then before. I can finally hit those notes way
above the bar line, Thanks to some of the exercises in this book. Arturo Sandoval is an
amazing trumpet player and this book would benefit any player trying to learn some stuff
fast, and with quality. It includes warm ups, Long tones, flexibility, duets, scales,
accidentals, and reviews for each section. (There is a few more things in the book that I
cannot think of right now). One of the major pluses would be the c.d. it comes with, for
not to strong site readers this will help you out. Over all this is one of the best books I
have come along and is worth a buy.

I think this is a good alternative to the complete Arban Trumpet study. But if you have Arban already, don't bother to buy this Sandoval study

Volume 1 of these studies from Arturo is great. I think after a student learns the notes from a low C to a high C in the staff that this book would be a positive book to purchase.

You would think Arturo would come out with something more interesting. Most of this book is designed to work on tone quality and scales. If you have a good method book, you don't need this one. He needs to write a book on improvising, phrasing, technique, and solo's. Tell me how to do those fast runs on the trumpet. I guess the pro's don't want to share their secrets.
