I think we can all agree that the Motown label has produced some of the most timeless and incredible singles in the history of music. This collection packs 40 songs onto 3 CD's for about 25 bucks, leaving a LOT of room on each disc for more songs.

Now, what if I were to tell you that you could get 104 songs (that's 64 more songs, folks) on 4 CD's that includes everything here (except for "Reflections" and "Going to a Go-Go") for ONLY a few bucks more?

Exactly!! Go for the "Hitsville USA: The Motown Singles Collection 1959-1971" for about $31 on Amazon. If you're strapped there is also "Motown Classics: Gold" which also collects 40 classics on 2 packed CD's for 10-15 bucks LESS than this collection. Stay away from the "Playlist Plus" series as there are much better values available elsewhere.

I stupidly got rid of my vinyl from my collection of Motown artists and this was a great way to replace the hits from Motown's vast music library. If you're looking for the best of the best, this is the selection I would recommend.

I wasn't really around for the golden era of Motown, but I grew up shortly after it - and this compilation contained so many of the great songs I grew up listening to with my parents.

So if you are like me, you will find yourself grooving and singing to every single song. Granted there were so many great artist signed to the Motown label, you may ask yourself: "Why did they choose that song?" But I thought the inclusion of"Really Got A Hold On Me" was a better song choice than Tears of a Clown or another one of Smokey Robinson's well known tunes. The same can be said for almost any of the artists on this compilation.

At the same time, I HAVE most of the artists "greatest hits" albums, so these are songs that added to my playlist. And I feel that the songs were selected to bring light to the talent these artists possessed before they were considered mainstream.

This is such a great value! I find myself listening to it more than any other album I have! And if you are a fan of Motown, you will most likely do the same!

Motown created the musical backdrop to much of my early path to the mysteries of the heart, becoming an adult and having a great time with my peers- so many memories. This 3 CD set brings them back. And it rocks! Long drives thst could numb me to sleep are now wide awake and even fun. Other motorists probably wonder what is going on in my car!
Everybody- with the exception of the Jacksons, is on these CD's.

motown might have 999 compilations, however most if not all are worth the price. so many great songs and artists. motown had a standard of quality music and for me are the blueprint to quanity and quality control. the [rice here is on point as well and a good introduction to 60's era motown.

This album is one of the best albums I've listened to in a long time. It was great highway and exercise music. I highly recomment the album, you won't be disapointed.

This is a very good compilation. It has a variety of all the Motown hits.
