Solid Seattle Rap,

This review is from: Playlist: The Very Best of Sir Mix-A-Lot (Audio CD)
Sir-Mix-a-lot is a Seattle rapper best known for the song "Baby Got Back." And yes, this track is included (in two versions) on this collection. But, he has other songs that made a contribution to rap music in the days of "yo! mtv raps," and I am glad to say that they are here as well.
"Posse On Broadway" and "Beepers" are the standout tracks here, but this is a nice collection to be checked out by any fan of rap music.

Back in the day, rap was fun and just part of the many types of popular music out there, instead of todays cookie cutter top forty which is so bad that dung would sound better, Sir was part of that multifun scene, his rap was about having fun and other things but never a vile tirade for gangs or the slime that overtook rap music. (gang rap crap_ I try to convice young people that rap was about more than evil raping violence , try this type of fun rap, nope, they insult it as gay, yes there's alot of hate of gays in todays rap scene, , but as you can see there's hardly a review of this artist on here. I can stand this funky type of rap because they were more in line with that varied music scene of twenty years ago. Instead today we get very limited types of sampling , sir didn't believe in that, he had multi types of instruments in here and he was fun. I can put this on and get a funky groove going. I love funk , and this guy did too.
