SHE IS JUST SOOOOO CUTE!!!!!! HOW COULD YOU NOT LIKE THIS DOLL?????? YES IT'S TRUE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE HAS CHANGED AND IT TOOK ME SOME TIME TO ADJUST TO IT BUT NOW I REALLY DO LOVE AND PREFER THE NEWER DOLLS. THIS DOLL IS BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE THE SOFTER PINKISH-RED HAIR. IT'S BETTER THAN THE OLD REALLY DARK RED HAIR I THINK.

How could you not know what the doll looks like before buying it? It is true she doesn't look like the 1980s dolls, but she is very well made and smells very yummy.
I love the detail in her outfit. My niece absolutely loves playing with her hair. I think overall a very cute doll. I do wish that the faces between the dolls were different though, the pets are ESPECIALLY cute!

The quality of this doll is terrible. The hair is the cheapest possible hair for a play doll. It became matted and unbrushable within days. The shoes don't stay on and the skirt is held onto the doll by being sewn to the shirt by a tiny stitch. Once the stitch is removed the skirt will not stay on the doll at all. The tights are painted on and quickly scratched off. Also, the doll can be purchased at a national retail store for [...]. Please do not waste your money on this cheap doll.

I bought this doll for my niece who is 2 1/2 years old. Before I could even show her the new doll, she was digging through the bag saying "mine" "mine". She seemed quite pleased with her new doll even though I thought it wierd with the purple hair. The doll was actually much better in quality than I had anticipated, great size, very durable! I would recommend this doll, no compalints.

Such a Cute Doll!,

Although the new strawberry shortcake is far from what the original looked liked, i have to say I love this version just as much! I've always been a big fan of the 80s shortcake dolls, matter of fact I still have one! but i think this change is nice, it works for what is in now.
don't get me wrong the classic one will always be the best, but i'm happy they decided to go with something different; there's no point in producing a doll that looks just like the original version, when the original version can easily be found on sites like ebay anway. So far i can see this has been a big seller, every store i've gone too (toysrus/target/kbtoys/etc) is sold out.. i keep finding that lemon doll from the strawberry shortcake line, and even thats seldom, lol. since its been hard to find at stores i got mines here on amazon, I know my little girl is gonna luv her doll, & i look foward to seeing her smile when she gets it for xmas!

This doll looks NOTHING like Strawberry Shortcake. If your child is reading the books and watching the movies, they will not want to play with this doll. She is unrecognizable! If your child never watches any of the dvd's you might be able to pass it off. Huge disappointment. Playmates didn't get this one right at all.

Who is this doll supposed to be? I know it can't be Strawberry Shortcake since it doesn't look a thing like her! Strawberry Shortcake and her friends were extremely popular when I was growing up in the 80's. I was delighted to witness the Strawberry Shortcake comeback in 2002 when Bandai began producing an updated version of the dolls. The newer Bandai dolls certainly had a different look than the Kenner originals but they seemed true to the spirit of Strawberry Shortcake. They were still cute, wholesome looking toys that seemed a perfect fit for a new generation of Strawberry enthusiasts. My four year old daughter became a huge fan. She loves to play with her "Strawberries". Sadly, Bandai lost the contract to produce the Strawberry Shortcake toys and beginning in 2006 Playmates released a new line of Strawberry Shortcake dolls and products including this one. I was hopeful that these new dolls might be easier to come by than the Bandai dolls had been. I thought maybe they would release another line of dolls in their traditional outfits such as they appear in the Strawberry Shortcake books, dvds, and numerous products. I knew there would have to be some changes made but I NEVER expected this! I think the playmates dolls look completely ridiculous. I can't figure out how they plan to pull this one off. I can't see these toys flying off the shelves the way the Bandai products did. Can little girls and their mommies really accept this mutant Strawberry? I don't think so. Oh how I wish they would bring back the Bandai version.
