These guys are absolutely fabulous. They got right to work when we took them out of the box and quickly showed their stuff. They have gotten bored with the supplied safe and I've been having to keep them occupied by buying other kinds of locks and safes to keep them occupied, which has been hard because I seem to be misplacing money. I've even lost a credit card or two, now!
The wife seems to like them, too. She especially likes the little blond one and keeps talking about how he really has a heart of gold. She also points to the rather fancy Playmobil yacht that I'd only recently noticed (odd that, I don't remember buying that one for the kids) and keeps saying she bets he really knows how to "treat a woman like the princess she deserves to be treated as". I'm not sure what that means, exactly, but overall she seems happy, so I'm not complaining. Overall a great toy!

Give your children the gift of crime.,

This is the perfect gift for the aspiring young felon in your life. I can't wait for other products from the Playmobile Perpetrator Series like "Police Brutality Set" or "Shiv your Cellmate."

Clearly, safe crackers (thieves) in Europe are a classier bunch than your average American criminal. So far as I know, no American safe cracker (thief) matches his stripy safe-cracking sweater to his hair. I'm a little hesitant about the presence of a newsboy cap, which just about everyone knows has gone the way of the trucker hat, but maybe they're so outré they're hip again? Do people say hip anymore? Either way, this set is certainly educational, since every aspiring common criminal should not only know how to crack a safe (thieve), but also be aware of what their clothing choices say about them. After all, the medium IS the message these days.

My six year old grandson asked for this toy specifically. It came in good time and he was very pleased with it. It is of very good lasting quality.
It just seems a goofy toy---hardly educational---safe crackers with masks?

the need for a a Playmobil Big Pen, where youngsters can learn the fun and joy of our now privatized prison system. Statiscally speaking, 1 in a 100 is sure to end up there, maybe more if they take to the Safe Cracker game readily enough. Can't put larceny into little minds too early, I always say.
Toy shanks, applicable tatoos, and lots of fellow inmates of varying derangements can be included. How about a PlayMobil Meth Lab?

I haven't opened the box. I'll admit it - I purchased this out of the sheer, delicious irony of the product. Honestly, who makes a toy about safe cracking? I can see how it would be a nice addition to a pre-existing police-themed set, but on its own it looks like one of the poorer examples of toy design. Of course, for us big kids, it's downright hilarious. I should take the time to find out what other gems like this might be lying around on the internet...

Has anyone actually received their safe crackers? I ordered mine, only to receive an email letting me know the product was "backordered," and wouldn't be shipping for "5-10 years." Dunno, that doesn't feel like you're gonna be getting the best-of-the-best safe crackers. If you have other connections, I'd pursue 'em.

I bought this set to go with my "Crack dealers n' Whoes" set. It was also a great companion to go with the "Drunk driving" vehicle set I got my kids last christmas. Its good to see Playmobile stepping up to the plate and teaching kids that you don't have to waste your time getting an honest job or working for a living when there are so many other options for makeing a living. I'm hoping that Playmobil will come out with the "Meth addicted mother on Welfare" set. That one should come with a trailer park companion set.
