I love Playmobil's Egyptian theme. They're not only fun but educational!

I call this set an army builder because it's a set of 5 soldiers (one of whom is mounted) which you can buy multiples of to bulk up your army, or in my case to crew the Egyptian ship. Relatively speaking they're inexpensive and once you've got a few sets of them you can mix and match the accessories to give you different figures. The only quibble I have with this set is that Egyptians weren't mounted on horses, nor did they have mounted archers, their mounted arm was the chariots, but this is only a minor quibble.

If you're not familiar with Playmobil, they are a German brand of toys known all over the world, famous for their high quality. Everything is well made, thought out and designed. Playmobil is the Mercedes of toy brands, they will literally last forever, well as long as plastic lasts anyway. However, parents should be careful when giving them to young children since there are many small parts, which can not only be swallowed but lost. The great thing about this brand is that there are tons of add ons that go together. You can buy additional sets to complement this one. And if you have any questions about Playmobil there are several on-line guides, catalogs and forums where you can hang out with like minded people.

After buying my son his first Playmobil set, the Ancient Egyptian-themed Sphinx set, I got him this Egyptian soldiers set as an accessory to go with it. I grew up with Playmobil toys and so now I am introducing my son to the toys that brought me so much joy growing up. In short, they are just amazing; the quality, the detail, and the educational value are all excellent. I am now in the process of collecting the rest of the Ancient Egyptian-themed pieces for him.

I think that the Egyptian soldiers is very fun,durable and goes very well with the royal ship of Egypt.
It is not very educational, but it is not meant to be.
