5.0 out of 5 stars happy yet confused, August 19, 2010
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Playmobil 4407 Child with Wheelchair (Toy)
I am happy to find a toy like this to use with a recently purchased hospital (not Playmobil) for my 4 year old son that likes to fix people's boo-boos. I think it's a great example and it's a great additon to the ambulance and other patients I have for said hospital. Altho I do have a comment for the 1st reviewer of this product:

oh my goodness i cannot believe the review I just read from the disappointed parent that the play set was missing a coffin and tombstone and went so far as to assume the child in the wheelchair lost her family to illness as well as serious injuries. The reviewer is hoping for a different expression on the mother but this set includes the child and a nurse. I do not even see the likeness to Down's Syndrome in the child. Further, children are way more resilent and positive than adults in hospital situations and concerning injuries. When children are shown in appearances such as a Saint Jude donation drive the children who are spending a great amount of time in a hospital due to a serious or fatal illness there attitudes are always so good and they find a way to make the best of a bad situation and do not frown with "why me expressions". I'm sorry if this reviewer has dealt with this kind of heartbreak in his/her life or if their child suffers from Down's but I do not think this review is healthy nor do I think a child role playing the death and burial of a child is normal behavior even if they have dealt with it in their young lives. I don't even see how it was given the 5 star rating for fun when the role-playing that the toy is used for in this particular home does not seem to be much fun at all.

If for some reason this review was a joke as one suggested than it's even less funny then the review being real.

4.0 out of 5 stars Playmobile Wheelchair Review, March 18, 2008
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Playmobil 4407 Child with Wheelchair (Toy)
Overall a good toy that satisfied my daughters urges to care for a terminally ill child, I was particularly impressed by how much the playmobile cast plastic head made the child look as if it also had Downs syndrome.

I was a touch dissapointed in that both the model people had smiles on their faces, despite the fact that in a realistic childrens role play situation, with the child not only having a terminal mental illness, broken arm, leg and fractured skull - (and the mother having to watch what I can only assume from the content of the box her last remaining relative die of a terrible illness mixed with serious physical injuries,) that the facial configurations were not at least an agonising contortion on the part of the child, and possibly a why me, why again look of total desolation on the part of the mother.

Finally, although the toy gives a good representation of the difficulties faced by the wheelchair bound on a daily basis, for the complete learning experience may I suggest that playmobile include a child sized coffin and tombstone for the final act in a typical childs role play experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars What?????????, November 14, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Playmobil 4407 Child with Wheelchair (Toy)
I just have to respond to the previous person's review. WHAT????? Down Syndrome isn't terminal and if she looks like she has Down Syndrome then so do the rest of the people in the sets because they look the same. Any kid could get in a car or bike accident and look like this doll. Could they be "happy" that they are leaving the hospital.
And WHY does your daughter want a "terminally ill" doll anyways? WOW!
