5.0 out of 5 stars nice start to playmobil
The doll house is not large but a nice addition to many of the playmobil sets. It comes with family and furniture. Best for children age 4 and up. The pieces are very small. The playmobil 1.2.3 is bigger and better for younger children. I bought this house for my 3 year who will grow into it. She loves Polly Pocket. Playmobil people are a similar size. This house...

3.0 out of 5 stars adorable but breaks easily
The pieces are adorable, and I love playmobil, but the pieces that hold the two parts of the house together come apart very easily.

The playmobil 1.2.3 is bigger and better for younger children. I bought this house for my 3 year who will grow into it. She loves Polly Pocket. Playmobil people are a similar size. This house makes a perfect home addition to the farm or zoo set or a great guest house. For the price it's a great option. I suggest adding accessories like the modern house pool, playground, car, etc. to give it more life. Great sturdy toy with lots of detail and quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect starter home, December 26, 2005
This review is from: Playmobil Take Along Dollhouse (Toy)
My 6 yr. old daughter received this doll house for Christmas. It is a wonderful first doll house.

The features are that it includes all the major rooms that one would need to begin play. It also includes 4 people figures and lots of furniture to set-up.

The quality is great. With not a lot of care this could last a very long time.

The only true downside is that is doesn't have a bathroom.

I wouldn't recommend it for anyone much younger than about 6 years old. The pieces are pretty tiny (plates, baby bottle, etc.) and would be frustrating for younger girls to use.

I love how the cups, baby bottle and spoon fit into the family member's hands. There's even a tiny little book that goes into the girl's back pack. Lots of detail in this home.

I think it's great for the price!

I bought this toy a while ago. Spent some time this morning playing with it. I had forgotten how much it is. I made this short video (1 minute, 52 seconds) so you can see what you can do with this cute and delightful little dollhouse.

My husband is European and had many Playmobil sets as a child. We picked this dollhouse up as a souvenir for my daughter while we were on vacation. My daughter has the short attention span that is typical of an almost four-year-old but this toy engages her interest for long stretches of time. She loves to put the dolls in bed, to have them read the book, to put the baby in its stroller. She has the dolls talk to one another and I've really enjoyed seeing how this toy encourages her in imaginative play. I can't say enough good things about Playmobil.

My son got this for Christmas and we could not believe how much came with it. I guess it is more for girls after reading the other reviews but he loves to play with all of his Little People sets and this is similar in that you get to pretend. He loves to put the family to bed and have the mommy cook. I think this toy offers great fun for both boys and girls because the set is very neutral in coloring and offers opportunities for the kids to explore how they would do things in their own house. My son is under 3 but he has not even tried to put any of the pieces in his mouth so I think as long as you play with younger children then this toy will be okay (or if your child likes to put things in their mouths then this is probably not the toy for them).

When I was a child, I loved the Fisher Price "Little People" series. As an adult, I was disappointed to see that the Little People sets had been "improved" and were no longer anywhere near as fun to play with. This set fit the bill. It has lots of furniture to arrange and people to set up. We also have the Playmobil Barn (I think it is called a "Farm House" - but it is a barn), and the Santa house. You do need to be careful not to step on any of the larger pieces, as they will break. For normal play, it is very durable. You can easily spend several hundred dollars on a complete playmobil house. I would suggest starting with this one for under $[...].

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute little first doll house, May 20, 2008

My son received this for his third birthday. He loves it, especially as an addition to toys he already plays with (this house has been a train station, restaurant, and the home of Sir Topham Hat.)

It is cute and since the details are all stickers, there aren't lots of things to be broken.

One problem would be the many, small accessories. I have had to put them away because while my three year old isn't likely to put them in his mouth, his one year old brother is. The baby, baby carriage, books, dishes, etc, are in a little box that he can pull out when his baby brother is napping.

All around great first doll house.

I bought this and the farm for my son's birthday. I told him the dollhouse was not a dollhouse but a house for the farmers who worked in the farmhouse. My intention was to buy something that we could play together; I figured I would have the dollhouse and he would play with the farm.

He likes the house just as much as the farm though so we have to switch off.

Just like the farm there are lots of little pieces to inspire the imagination...and to get lost. I always help him pick up his "mess" when he's done and make sure that we do an inventory as we load the pieces into the house that double as storage for the parts. With little pieces for the baby and little kittens and dishes, there are lots that can get overlooked when you've thought you've packed them all up. Makes for very realistic play though, so don't let that put you off.

Lots of fun though, I would recommend this for a boy or a girl. It's not too pink to make the boys feel like they're playing with a girl toy either.

This toy has been a hit at our house. I love that it is a self containing toy, even though there are many small pieces. The kids will sit and play with this for quite a long time, then they can easily close it and contain all the pieces.

This is my favorite playmobil toy for that reason. ;)
