This is a great addition to a pirate ship for a child that is into pirates. It is very durable, has lots of pieces to it, including 3 pirates and lockable treasure chest w/treasure. There is room for storage and is great for a take-along toy. My son plays with this every day. It is great for promoting imaginative play.

I wasn't expecting much from this toy, because of the size & price. I have to say, it's one of my son's favorites! He sets it up himself, and plays for a good amount of time with it. It then clean up very nicely into the carrying case.

My 6 year old plays with this for hours. I love that all the pieces can be stored in the island and he can take it along to grandma's house... or actually clean up his toys. I am a fan of playmobile and the quality. My son likes the shelves for hiding treasure chests. Great imagination builder....

My son got this for his 5th birthday last January and I've been very surprised at how much it gets played with. He and his 3 yr old brother will play with this and their pirate ship for a couple hours at a time, quite regularly. The pieces are very small, so it only gets played with when the baby is napping, but we like how all the pieces fit into the carrying case -- which closes very tightly and the little one cannot get it open. We are planning on purchasing more Playmobil pirate sets for Christmas this year, we are very happy with this purchase.

My nephew is four and my daughter is two. They both have the Pirates' Take Along Island. This is a really fun set - the treasure chest has a sliding lock so the little coins can be placed inside and not lost. The cannon really fires. The pirates are cute and don't seem to mind sharing their island with other Playmobil people. There's a little rowboat and oars and a skeleton that glows in the dark. Lots of fun stuff! Obviously the little tiny pieces should be put up if your child still puts things in his/her mouth that he/she shouldn't, but there are plenty of big parts that can be played with safely. No one's gonna choke on a row-boat. One would hope.

Playmobil has a great thing in these play sets. They have some TINY little parts, but do pay attention to details, and my boys (4 & 7) simply LOVE these and will play with them for hours! We have several of the sets now, and they want more. They have had more fun with these sets than with any other play set we have ever found, and I am very happy.

This case is a bit tricky for my 4 year old to put together, so that is a bummer, but otherwise it is great!

My son is almost three and loves pirates. I wanted a pirate toy that wasn't too infantile, but not too complex. The recommended age is four and older, and for a good reason. There are plenty of small choking-hazard pieces. However, my son no longer puts toys in his mouth, so I decided to give it a try. He loves this toy (as does my husband); mostly he loves the small pieces. The treasure coins are too small. We have lost several pieces; I've heard them being vacuumed up. He also loves to take the pirates apart. It comes with so many different pieces: little guns, treasure chest, boat, earrings for the pirates, hats, hair, gun holsters, glow-in-the-dark skeleton, plants for the island, shooting cannon...there are almost too many to list. Personally, I think it is a really great deal for only $20 and it is a nicely made toy. I plan on buying more playmobil playsets in the future. I only wish I could replace the small treasure coins, they disappear too quickly.

This thing is great! I was lucky to find it on amazon under $50.00! Most sellers have it listed for over $110.00+. My daughter loves playmobil and to have a take along set like this is soooo great. Wish they still made this set. I know a few other kids that would love to have it, but not for the retired price. This is great for travel just enough pieces to keep track of in a nice portable unit.

First, I'll tell you about the product itself, Sturdy enough to withstand two little boys excited about their Christmas goodies were playing with it. This toy took a beating and kept up with them, as well as some adults stepping and tripping on it that day. There ARE some very small pieces included in the treasure chest. It's filled with tiny coins so, if your kid sticks things in their mouth, BEWARE.

Secondly, The shipper was outstanding. I recieved this product quickly and way before IThought I would.

This toy provides challenge and some responsibility for my almost 4 year old son. It's amazing so see him take such good care of it. He has a two year old brother so it has to be kept out of his reach, making it even more appealing I believe. He will sit and play with this for ages, all by himself, which in no small feat for my very social son. So I'm sold on it, it's fantastic, and fun for us to play together as well. He got the Pirate Island Super Set along with it and the pieces compliment each other and add to the fun. One of the best features is that all the pieces (from both sets) fit nicely inside, making keeping it all together easier and believe me there are very very small pieces.
